Wayne Linsey is a consummate musician, producer, arranger, songwriter and artist who plays keyboards, guitar, bass and drums.  He worked with the late great Whitney Houston for years and I got a chance to interview him for my documentary 'For The Love of Whitney' in which he talked about the years he worked with Whitney.  He even got a little emotional during reminiscing about Whitney. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to sit down with Grammy award winning producer, Narada Michael Walden at the Grammy Museum in LA.  I was there for an event honoring the release of a book he wrote about Whitney Houston.  He is responsible for a lot of Whitney's number one hits.  We discussed music, his new book, and working with Whitney. Listen in.

I had the honor and privilege of attending an intimate Q&A and book signing with Bishop T.D. Jakes at the William Morris Endeavor Screening Room in Beverly Hills, CA.  Many other celebrities and well known industry executives were also in attendance.  Some included: Robert Townsend, Sheryl Underwood, Robi Reed, Debra Martin Chase, and DeVon Franklin.  The conversation surrounding Bishop Jakes #1 New York Times Best Selling book, Instinct was led by Stephen Galloway of The Hollywood Reporter.  Within minutes of Bishop Jakes speaking the room was filled with inspiration, motivation, and an amen corner. To be 2 feet away from this great man of God and have the opportunity to experience his spirit-filled message, was beyond amazing.

A few days later I sat down with Bishop Jakes for my own one-on-one interview at his office in Los Angeles.  I was so nervous that I completely went blank in the beginning of the interview! I was silent when I should have been asking a question.  Can we say awkward?! Lol! Somehow I got it together and was able to complete the interview.  Listen in.

I sat down with Jazz great, Kirk Whalum, after the screening of his DVD, "The Gospel According to Jazz Chapter IV" at the West Angeles Performing Arts Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.  This DVD musically explores the convergence of jazz and gospel infused with rhythm and blues, through a "docu-music concert" DVD and live-recorded double CD with musical messages of tribute, tragedy and triumph - musically illustrating God's radical hospitality.

I had so much fun interviewing Tony Rock about being the host of TV ONE's new show, "The Game of Dating." During my interview, we talked about his brother Chris Rock, his thoughts on Chrisette Michele performing at Donald Trump's inaugural ball and Steve Harvey's meeting with Donald Trump. Tony did not hold back one bit.  He was so hilarious that a clip from my interview actually went viral in 2017.  It has been viewed by over 2 million people on Facebook, by hundreds of thousands of people on Instagram, and became the headline of countless blog posts and radio show segments.  This clip was seen and heard everywhere!  It even made it into the conversation on The Breakfast Club and Dish Nation.  

Tony had me laughing non-stop with some of his responses to my questions. He was so entertaining that I think the entire interview should have went viral.  This is my best interview of 2017.  I didn't know a whole lot about Tony Rock before my research for this interview, but following our sit down I became a big fan.  He's not only funny, but he's super smart and shared a lot of great advice. In 2017 I sat down for a one-on-one interview with Jenifer Lewis in her wonderful home to discuss her new book, The Mother of Black Hollywood.  It had been 5 years since my last interview with Jenifer and I was hoping to capture the same magic I did with her the first time.  Well, this diva never disappoints! I got a chance to sit down one-on-one with 3 time Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and producer, B. Slade (Formerly known as Tonex). He just dropped his self-titled album, "B. Slade" on October 31st. This new album embodies all of the colorful characteristics that are within B. Slade, hence the name of one of his song titles, Ketchup & Mustard." This album is truly for the young and old, the hip and chic - for anyone who loves good music and wants to have a good time.

Back in 2011, Tam wrote the most beautiful letter to The Oprah Winfrey Show about how our friendship resembled her friendship with Gayle. We were blessed to have been chosen to attend the taping on 4/11/11 during Oprah's 25th season.

The show, which was filled with Best Friends, also featured Oprah's Best Friend, Gayle King.  During the show, Oprah gave everyone a fantastic trip to the Miraval Spa & Resort in Arizona (airfare, meals, transportation to and from the resort, and massages all paid for).  How lucky were we :-)  We also had the privilege of sitting 2 feet away from Oprah and Gayle in the 2nd row, center. I even got a chance to ask Oprah a question, which they later posted on Oprah.com. What an amazing experience Tam and I had!

Fast forward to 11/11/11 - Tam and I were chosen to attend the taping of Oprah's Life Class with Iyanla Vazant in Los Angeles.  This time it was I who wrote a letter that lead us to a seat in the audience.  We even sat in the front row right next to Oprah's new found sister, Patricia.  The show was amazing, as well as the final show of the season.  And the best part of this story is that thanks to my excellent nonverbal communication skills we were the only people who got to take a picture with Oprah.  God is indeed Good!   Listen to my question to Oprah.  Gayle chimed in too!
