Jesus Day once again. It is unavoidable that the events of the week influence what I say on Sunday. Since I also serve as a kind of source of information for the members of my congregation, I have to talk a bit of politics. Admittedly, I do my best to go against the now repealed 1954 Johnson Amendment. What is honor, what is arrogance, what is humility? How does one get any of it is a question examined today so that we are better able to stay on the road of Life. Blessings and Peace!

Sunday means Jesus Day. What a week and it certainly is a challenge for people who are trying to live by faith. Yes, I talk about the War with Iran, Yes, I probably upset people at my church and will here as well. But c'mon, where is the Peace? What is peace? And how do we get some?

Jesus Day again. Conforming means to become like everyone else. I don't think that's what the Apostle Paul was talking about when he wrote that we must transform through renewal. In other words, we are not supposed to transform only to look and sound and act like everyone else.

Jesus Day again and we are going to talk about Love... again. Yesterday was Valentine's Day so it's somewhat timely. There's a lot of confusion in the church, but God's Love is NOT an emotion. It is radically different. We need more of it today if we, as a country, are to get out of this mess.

Jesus Day again... When the school year ends, I'll be back doing my regular episodes commenting on current events. In the meantime, it's my Sunday sermon. So, good fruit and good words, what might they be? People do not like good words as much as they claim. Why not? And how do believers live a life full of the good fruit of good words?

Jesus Day again and though the snows have not melted yet, we were able to have or normal services. Today, I discuss living quietly. What is it to be quiet? Quiet living often hints at stability. Should this be the goal of our lives, a stable quiet life? What do we do about time and change?

Jesus Day again... AND the second snow day in a row. This message was from 2023, but it explains how I understand the mark of faith. In other words, many people use markers which become a moral hazard. I try to reduce that risk while adding a bigger upside to living by faith, Growth. Stay safe and temperate wherever you are. Sunday Jesus Day and it's the first Sunday of the year. Let's remind ourselves of the importance of keeping track of time, our most valuable resource. Given that it is so vitally important, our priorities are brought into focus. Let's talk about that in this crazy world of misinformation and lies.
