Last summer, Calvin had an unpaid internship with a startup company in Indianapolis. Overall, his internship was an amazing experience, but like with anything else, it had its ups and downs. I think we can all agree that as students the question “Should we take an unpaid internship?” is a hot topic for us now more than ever before, and Calvin is here to tell us the truth about what an unpaid internship actually looks like and how you can get as much out of your experience as possible.

Episode 3's guest is Kelsea Costello. Kelsea is graduating next month with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. Last summer, Kelsea had the opportunity to intern with Southwest Airlines in Dallas, TX. The hiring process was no easy task, however, and required Kelsea to fly out from Indiana to Texas for the final stage of the interview. I don’t about you guys, but while that sounds like a lot of fun, it also sounds very intimidating to me. And we know that more and more companies are taking this approach to the final stage of their hiring process these days. So today, we’re sitting down with Kelsea and getting the full scoop on how to navigate a fly-out interview with low-stress and high confidence.

Episode 2's guest is Izzy Fray. Izzy is a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing. Izzy is highly involved in various organizations on Purdue’s campus such as the School of Management Employers Forum, her sorority, and Old Master’s. During her time at Purdue, Izzy has been intentional about building her resume by holding multiple leadership roles in these organizations. Last summer, Izzy interned with Republic Airline, and credits her strong resume and extracurricular experiences with landing her the internship. There are thousands of extracurricular opportunities offered in college, and I think we all can agree that figuring out which organizations to join as well as how many organizations we should join can sometimes feel very overwhelming. Episode 1's guest is Will Franklin. Will is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship. Ever since Will can remember, he was absolutely fascinated by space and had a long-term dream of working for NASA. Will applied multiple times for the NASA co-op program before he even got an interview, and it wasn’t until his SECOND time interviewing for the internship that he was finally offered a position. Upon completing the co-op program in Houston, Will landed a full-time job with NASA in Mission Control. Hearing no can be discouraging and often make us want to give up, but Will’s story is a great example of how to turn a “No” into “Not yet.” Today, Will shares advice on how to relentlessly pursue your dream in the midst of rejection.
