The Vagus Nerve is the main nerve of your parasympathetic nervous system. It controls certain body functions such as your digestion, heart rate and immune system which are involuntary systems. This part of your physical system also calms your body after you have been in a stressful situation.
Ways to calm the vagus nerve are:
- Breathing deeply
- Massage
- Exercise
- Connecting with others
- Laughter
On the show today, Karen Herrick and I discuss how this nerve is the “highway of your physical and spiritual bodies” which is 3 part You Tube series Karen has done.
