Selected Scriptures (Genesis 3:7-13; Luke 10:25-29; Romans 3:21-26; and 2 Corinthians 5:21) Christ’s work in justification is often misunderstood. Not only was the penalty for our sin transferred to Christ at Calvary, but His positive righteousness was transferred to our account as well. As a result of this double exchange, justification is a legal declaration, pronounced at the moment that a sinner puts his trust in Jesus Christ, in which God pardons the sinner of all of his sins and accepts and accounts the sinner as righteous in His sight.
