The Public Protector's preliminary investigation into the Phala Phala break-in has cleared President Cyril Ramaphosa of certain charges. This is while the Parliamentary inquiry (Section 89 panel) said he should face an impeachment inquiry over the Phala Phala matter.

This is not the first time in our democracy where we have Parliamentary findings bringing forward a divergent set of recommendations from a chapter nine institution or a court ruling. In this hour, we will unpack the two reports that have emerged from these institutions. We will also track the how the

spheres of governance have handled scandals of this nature (Arms Deal/Nkandla/Phala Phala) previously andwhether the President will survive the onslaught of this scandal.

Bowel cancer is the second most common cancer in men after prostate cancer in South Africa. It is the third most common cancer in women after breast and cervical cancer.

According to the CSIR, 45% of the nation’s available food supply is wasted annually. Food Waste occurred during the early phases of production: Post-harvest handling, Storage and Processing. In 2021, 10.3 million tonnes of edible food earmarked for human consumption does not reach the human stomach.

Our next guest has been working towards ending hunger since October 2019 and have delivered over 38,6 million meals in the last three years. Their team has rescued 11,7 million kilograms of food to date through their technology. As the food rescue and hunger relief organization commemorates, it will work towards eradicating hunger with a focus on Sections 27 (Health care, food, water and social security) of the South African Constitution. Around 20 million people are on a spectrum of severe food vulnerability and the government is not fulfilling its constitutional obligation to address this catastrophe.

They are using their comic series to tell the story of South Africa’s important historical events that define who we are as a nation and how we go to where we are today. Also how we can use these event to better build our nation? To give us a sense of what this project gets the message across and the role played by the group that puts it all together.

Last week we received a voice note from one of our callers who resides in the uThukela District Municipality. He says that they have been without water for many weeks. Let’s take a listen to what he had to say….
