The issue of alcohol abuse and destruction is a major one that our country is still battling with and researchers in the field warn that more needs to be done to stop the scourge. The Department of Social Development and the Global Alcohol Policy Alliance is trying to build traction towards their conference themed: “Investing in people before profits: building momentum towards the Framework Convention on Alcohol Control. They will be looking at the impact of alcohol on gender-based violence, drunk driving on the road, regulating digital marketing of alcohol to name a few. So we are using this opportunity now to look at the painful effect of alcohol abuse in our country and the need to tighten regulations. But will is help? To discuss this, we are joined by….
