Ever since the KZN floods and how the municipalities there have battled to deal with the disaster, concerns have been raised at how local government responds. According to reports, the deal reached between the SABC and Multichoice outlined that the SABC is not allowed to air the 16 games on the eMedia platform, OpenView. There are 3,2 million viewers who watch SABC channels through the OpenView platform.

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) says its overall audit outcome has improved compared to the prior year. This despite the Fund recording a deficit of 8.43-billion-rand in the 2022/23 financial compared to the over 400-million-rand surplus in the previous financial year. The Fund's CEO,Collins Letsoalo held a media briefing where he also outlined new measures that the fund will be applying like not paying out foreign nationals who suffer injuries from accidents on South African roads.
