Joy Stoffers was raised in East Brunswick, NJ, by a Taiwanese mother and a Caucasian father. At the age of six, she wrote, illustrated, and promptly recycled her first short story. Since then she dreamed of becoming a novelist. She holds a BA in English from Rutgers University and an MA in Creative Writing from Newcastle University, UK. Harken Media published her debut novel, Whasian, on November 2, 2015.

Growing up as a mixed racial child, Joy never knew where she fit in which caused identity confusion on her part. This led her to being doubtful and never committing to anything. Once she decided to embrace her identity, that is when her confidence also came out in the process. Tune into Joy's episode to listen to her story.

Shan Ju Lin was born in Taiwan and migrated to Australia in 1991. She has earned a Masters of Education and runs both the Children’s Festival and the Harmony Festival held in Ipswich, Australia. She was also a journalist and editor for the Chinese version of the Epoch Times.

Becoming a single mother and moving to a new country helped Shan Ju realized it was up to her to create the life she desired. Even if she had no clue where to start, she knew she had a goal and followed it regardless of the outcome. Listen to her episode as she shares her story.

Kristina Wong is a performance artist, comedian and writer who has created five solo shows and one ensemble play that have toured throughout the United States and UK. Her most notable touring show– “Wong Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” looked at the high rates of depression and suicide among Asian American women and toured to over 40 venues since 2006.

Lily Born is the creator of the Kangaroo Cup. When Lily Born was 8, she noticed that her grandpa, who has Parkinson’s Disease, was knocking over his cup a lot, creating spills that Grandma needed to clean up. Inspired, she came up with the idea for the Kangaroo Cup: a three-legged cup that won’t tip over. After prototyping for several years, first with hand-moldable plastic and then with clay at a pottery studio, she had a cup ready for production. Now a seasoned 13-year-old, she has sold tens of thousands of the cups all over the world.

Jennifer Zhang is a well-known musician, model, actress and MC based in Chicago. She is a singer, songwriter, and musical performer of various instruments including the Chinese bamboo flute, the Chinese zither, and the piano. Crowned as the 2015 Miss Friendship Ambassador of Chicago, she was granted the honor of representing Chicago in the 2015 Miss Chinese International Pageant in Hong Kong.
