Chances are, every fantasy book you’ve ever read has been influenced in some way by a society of writers who called themselves the Inklings. C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Owen Barfield, Charles Williams, and their friends held informal meetings at pubs and parlors in England throughout the mid-1900s. These authors held day jobs as Oxford academics with a concentration in all the fairytales and fantasy that came before them. 

In conversation with each other, they wrote the most fascinating and fantastical tales, encoded with secret meanings and shrouded in mystery even to this day.
