Part II. A Melaninated Woman raising a young Melaninated Man in Springfield, Missouri- a not so diverse place is a challenge within its self. Taking care of kids in #2024 IS NOT for the faint of heart with cell phones and the internet ruling as King. Hoodies and Attitude is what teenagers have to offer these days. The Mama/Daughter relationship is very different from Mama/Son speaking from my own personal experience. Breaking #GenerationalCurses and #FamilyDysfunction while healing your own childhood trauma is not only hard, but emotional. I found myself in a #existentialcrisis while Teaching my Son #SelfCare #EmotionalIntelligence #FinancialSecurity How are you doing raising these kids?!

Part I| I am a Mother, Professional, and individual. I wear many hats in a day hints the name #TheJillofMOSTTrades. Do you know who you are? Acquiring #emotionalintelligence to better understand my value in my relationships is a necessity. I talk about my lessons and losses in my own journey to reparent myself and setting new boundaries, rather it’s dealing with family, romantic relationships, or colleagues. Do you leave people better than you found them? What are you looking for? Are you a giver or a taker?

When did you create your vices? Was it out of trauma? TELL THE TRUTH, SHAME THE DEVIL!!! Mine was created out of burnout which turned into coping. Operating at a higher frequency requires intentional work and #Selfcare: Acceptance Boundaries Communication and Discipline. This is spiritual warfare people! How are you arming yourself?

How are you filling your cup up in 2024? What does healing and resetting look like for you? For me…I’ve had to focus on my mental health and what I am feeding to it. Are you praying/meditating daily? Exercising? Acquiring knowledge? Being creative? Working in your purpose/calling? As a single parent and Black professional in today’s society, I have to find a healthy balance to life. I recently reconnected with reading through the Libby audiobook app. Books like #DramaFree A Guide to Managing Unhealthy Family Relationships by #NedraTawwab and #TheSecret by Rhonda Byrne are great starts to identifying where you are in your own journey. But YOU have to do the work in your healing and working on becoming your best self!
