Well: here we are. We're at the end -- "The End" -- of LOST!. It's as you think: J. likes the end, Robby kinda goes "Yeah, whatever," and there is some disagreement. We discuss the series as a whole, its failures, its success, its ambitions, its legacy, and try to figure out J. is still bothered by lying trolls and naysayers. Really, it gets like a therapy session at one point. (Hey, LOST! is very personal to J. He feels much better now, it should be noted.)

We're so close now, people. We ramp up the LOST coverage this week, discussing four late season six episodes -- "The Last Recruit," "The Candidate," "Across the Sea," and "What They Died For" -- to get us in position for the finale. And there's a lot to discuss: the sideways universe is getting interesting, the island story is moving with unheard-of momentum, and the body count is skyrocketing. And as we get closer to the end -- and "The End" -- Robby is ready to furrow his brow at the conclusion, and J. has his lengthy apologia already composed.

Next week, it's back to Deep Space Nine, with "Ties of Blood and Water" (Cardassians!), "Ferengi Love Songs" (ugh), and "Soliders of the Empire" (Klingons!).

We're watching Deep Space Nine this week. One of our episodes -- we're talking about "Doctor Bashir, I Presume," "A Simple Investigation," and "Business as Usual" -- is an unfortunately dull detective story; one is a preachy piece of heavy-handed moralizing without a clear moral; and one makes J. so angry he practically starts yelling. After that, we have a sad over the second season of Friday Night Lights, which continues to be...weird.

Before all of that, we discuss some of our favorite musical sequences from television, eschewing some famous choices (we've never watched Buffy, for instance) for some personal picks.

Next week, we load up on LOST, charging toward the conclusion with four episodes, "The Last Recruit," "The Candidate," "Across the Sea," and "What They Died For." Mortar shells, digital watches, the source of all life, and a staggering body count.

We talk some more LOST season six, with "The Package," "Happily Ever After," and "Everybody Loves Hugo." Sun forgets English, Desmond sees you in another life, brutha, and everybody forgets what happened to Arzt.

Then, we kick off the second season of Friday Night Lights, as we reenter the world of Dillon: teenage romance, football practice, family drama, and how to dispose of a man after impulsively killing him outside of a Diamond Shamrock. Wait, what?

And we're back, with the conversation we tried to have last week. We talk about the end of Elementary's second season, praising the good while taking our usual swipes at CBS (and a few at the writers of Sherlock), then move on to three top-shelf episodes of Deep Space Nine, "For the Uniform" and "In Purgatory's Shadow"/"By Inferno's Light." Get ready for shocking heel turns, French literary references, and evil sandwiches.

Next week, we continue Lost's final season, with "The Package," "Happily Ever After," and "Everybody Loves Hugo." And yes, they finally get around to shedding some light on just what the hell is going on in the sideways universe. Also, we fulfill our earlier promise and start up the second season of Friday Night Lights, which is where everything apparently gets wacky and strange. We'll be the judges of that, we suppose.

J.'s computer went die during this recording, so we only ended with the first eight minutes of our discussion. Fortunately, it left us with our brief discussion on the cancellation of Community.
