The Theo & Prince Symposium

In todays episode we take inspiration from our long hiatus from recording and a book we are currently reading by Alan De Botton, called An Emotional Education. We are discussing failing and setbacks. From Prince's failure in his second year of university to failed attempts in other areas of life we discuss how we interpret failure and wether the society we live in affects our interpretations of failures and shortcomings. We also discuss the ways in which we might handle a discussion with someone who has failed at something.

We invite @Wgtanimations on this week’s episode to discuss an issue prevalent in our society - The super league. The proposed Super League raised a lot of ethical/moral questions about the integrity of the owners involved and some have referred to them as ‘greedy’. There are three questions we discuss within this episode, 1) Is the Super League beneficial to the footballing society? 2) Is the 50+1 rule necessary within the English football League? 3) What is the difference between the Super league and the champions league.

With the 94th OSCAR'S ending less than 2 weeks ago the question of Black & BAME under-representaiton has been the centre of attention once more. Today we dive deep into the question of under-representation in the OSCAR'S and aim to offer a balanced view of whether under-representation at the OSCAR'S is a fact or a fallacy.

Prince also brings up an interesting episode of philosophize this he listened to, centred around the role of govenrment in our lives and how much power the government should have in our lives.

We also go on to discuss social media and why Theo does not currently have social media. We then discuss the difficulties social media can bring and the worrying stories of some individuals in a book Theo read who fell ill due to social media. Prince raises some points about this and it's possible link to the placebo effect.

We finish off with our thoughts about the COVID vaccine and how we felt at the beginning of the roll-out vs how we feel now. There has been a change in Prince's paradigm in that time span.

In this episode we discuss democracy, the current Ghana election petition and ambush Tatenda for his views on whether he would do anything differently 10 years ago.

In todays episode we discuss when the ideal time to tell your child they are adopted is. Eric Berne suggests waiting until the child is able to process and understand the nuance of such a situation. In todays episode, Prince believes personality is a choice and disagrees with the idea of set personalities and phrases such as "That's just the way I am". In addition we discuss relationships how our inner child can fall for someone who is not fully compatible with us and how transactional analysis helps with understanding relationship dynamics.

Do we believe we are ok? Do we believe everyone else is ok? According to transactional analysis, our answers to these questions decide the life-scripts we have and thus the way we view the world. We discuss the 4 life positions decided by these believes, how they develop and which life positions some criminals can find themselves in.
