The thepodlingspodcast's Podcast

Podlings has had many episodes on the species design of different species and the artists who made them but we haven't yet talked about the sheer number of species and all of their categories in the Star Wars universe. Today we talk humanoid species sub categories... it is more interesting than it sound.

"What about the droid attack on the Wookies?" or "Impossible. The Sith have been extinct for a millennium." May spring to mind a large headed elderly alien...and you'd be right, we're talking about Ki-Adi-Mundi and his design in this episode.

Ki-Adi-Mundi is a powerful Jedi Master known for his big ass head. As we discussed, his character design perfectly captures his wise and respected demeanour, as well as his connection to the Force.

Podlings Podcast is a Star Wars fan podcast focused mainly on the design, but of all aspects Star Wars with casual discussions between two friends and graphic designers, PB and Bec. We release episode every Tuesday and Thursday 5am PST. Do what must be done and DO IT! Execute Podcast 66.

This isn't a new conversation in the Star Wars realm but talking about where George Lucas gets his inspirations from is our bread and butter. This episode is about how the droids in Star Wars are an allegory for slavery and how Lucas has created this symbolism subtle throughout the storyline.

Today we collect our thoughts and talk about the Tales of the Jedi.

Some characters with smaller parts tend to get overlooked and we want to shout out the character that is Babu Frik. In the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy we get to meet a droidsmith with a unique language and chuckle. This episode goes over Babu's puppet, puppeteers and of course the voice actor that made the entire character.

That's right, we're talking DUEL OF FATES. The legend himself composed an absolute banger of a masterpiece and we're here to talk about it.

Today we reverse the inspiration table when it comes to Star Wars and shout out an epic story that came before the release of A New Hope. We love an inspiration story as much as the next but today we look into how George Lucas found inspiration from the 1965 sci-fi novel Dune.

We've talked about the controversial changes of George's changes to the originals before, and in part 2 of this episode we're going to gloss over some subtle and some major changes to the A New Hope. Yes, there was a part 1 a very long time ago.

To celebrate 1 year of the Podlings Podcast we have decided to talk about how we came up with our Podcast name and logo. We want to say a special thank you to our listeners aka you Podlings as this has been such a wild space ride and sharing our love and eagerness to learn more about the Star Wars universe together has been amazing. We f*ckin' love you all!

There are many deleted scenes, and even an alternative script for The Rise of Skywalker but this would have been a really cool scene to see. To see the conflict deepened within Kylo, and to see more sithy Dark Side stuff, even more Vader!
