In this episode, we talk with the current Director of Combatives at West Point, former Army Ranger and founder of the Modern Army Combatives Program, Matt Larsen. We discuss unique benefits and challenges of martial arts training, specifically related to implementing Combatives programs on a large scale, and, since Matt is currently working on his PhD in Psychology, we also cover a number of areas related to this field, ranging from the psychomotor learning process to population dynamics to mate selection strategies and how they relate to conflict.
