Steven: So I happen to be one of those rare people who do not use a smartphone day-to-day and I stick by my choice. For sure. And I thought I would go through my reasons for not using a smartphone. And so bothered toady. Haven’t heard these yet. So you’re getting a life, life reaction to my reasons for not using a smartphone.
Tony: and Steven, when you say you’ve never used a smartphone, I mean, you’ve touched a smartphone before, right. And have, but you’ve never just used it for work or personal
Steven: Right, right.
Tony: And this is by the way, recorded December, 2020. So the smartphone has existed for over a decade. And Steven has not yet adopted one for daily use.
Steven: a slow adopter on CDs as well.
Tony: What are those? Steven
Bob: Oh,
Tony: said another streaming
Bob: discs, rafter. We’re talking about.
Steven: Yeah
Tony: Yeah. How about videos,
Steven: Well, I, I never, I never invest.
Tony: or beta?
Steven: I never invested in VHS.
Tony: Well, are you going to adopt that soon or,
Steven: no. I, I went straight from nothing to DVD.
Tony: Okay. A Blu-ray just curious.
Bob: wait a minute. UHD or just Blu-ray ultra high Def. Come
Steven: just playing at the moment.
Bob: Ah, okay, so you, you, you ain’t ultra yet. Okay.
Tony: Okay. So while, while the rest of the modern world, and maybe even third world countries have adopted smartphones, Steven has not yet adopted a smartphone in 2020. So Steven, why the heck haven’t you adopted a smartphone yet? And what are you using by the way as your phone, you have a
Steven: I do have a phone.
Tony: A mobile.
Steven: we don’t recording video, but I’m just holding it up to my camera. It’s a, it’s a flip phone. So I used to use of course a Motorola flip phone, but these days it’s a Kaia Sera flip phone, that uses Verizon.
So in, in my work office, we have Verizon boosters on our tool floor in Chicago. And so I had to get a Verizon phone and this one is a very rugged
Tony: and it’s, got a T nine key pad. If people don’t know what that is, that means it’s got numbers. One, two, three, you know, all the way through one through zero and a star button and a pound button. So. If you text Steven, you may not get a reply for a day or two, right. Because it’s,
Steven: It takes so long. This is true.
Tony: It will just call you because texting is too much effort.
So do you, do you text on that phone, Steven, by the way?
Steven: rarely.
Tony: Okay,
Bob: We wonder why we don’t have to wonder why.
Tony: Does that camera, or does that phone have a camera in it?
