Studies have shown that relying heavily on technology can hinder our problem-solving abilities. It's like handing the keys to our brains over to our gadgets and saying, 'You figure it out!'"
We need all the problem-solving power we can get. We're constantly facing new challenges, overcoming obstacles, and finding innovative solutions. And that's where our memory comes into play. Imagine being able to recall important business strategies, think on your feet during critical moments, and come up with creative solutions to complex problems.
It's like having a superhero cape draped over your shoulders!
In part one of our 'Better Memory Masterclass,' we'll dive deep into the fascinating science of memory, uncovering the secrets of how our brains encode, store, and retrieve information. And hey, we'll even bust some myths along the way!
In part two, we'll bridge the gap between memory mastery and entrepreneurship and personal branding. We'll explore practical techniques to remember crucial business details, ace those networking events, and create a personal brand.
So, whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur with big dreams or someone looking to level up their personal brand, this two-part masterclass is tailor-made for you.

SHOW NOTES
Hello, Thumbody family! Welcome back to another episode of "The Thumbody Show"! It’s been a fantastic journey over the past six episodes as we journeyed through the B.A.N.A.N.A lessons. And today, we wrap up the final segment.
Now, we've gone through the process of finding our "B.A.N.A.N.A" – that's Behavior, Appreciation, Necessity, Abundance, Name, and Accountability. We've worked on building our Tree of Character, whose roots are fed by our heart's condition.
Here's the deal: if the heart's not true, the fruit we produce, no matter how much we follow the lessons, will turn out bad. Each of our trees is unique, and we're responsible for our own fruit.
Now, let's take a step back and look at the Birthday Lessons. All these stages connect and flow seamlessly from committing to your name to giving, seeking wisdom, and producing fruit on your Tree of Character. But remember, they actually happen in reverse!
The combination of all of the Birthday Lessons, forms our Tree of Character. The condition of your heart is the source that feeds the branches that produce the fruit on your Tree of Character.
You can go through the actions of each lesson, but if your heart is not true, the fruit produced by the branches will produce only bad fruit. A bad tree can never produce good fruit. The fruit that grows from the limbs of your tree will be different from the fruit that grows from the tree of your neighbor. We are only responsible for our own fruit. Will you be proud to display your basket of fruit?

Book Link: Chasing Carrots Won't Help You Find Your Purpose if You Were Born to Love Bananas.
Today, we will be covering the topic of accountability.
I’ll guide you on how to embrace different forms of accountability to unlock greater success in your life.
By taking responsibility in various aspects of your life, you can experience personal growth, build stronger relationships, and make the most of your unique gifts and talents.
What are the four areas we will cover?
Area 1: Accountability to a higher power
Area 2: Personal accountability
Area 3: Accountability to others
Area 4: Accountability to the gifts and talents you were given
Unfortunately, many people don't fully embrace accountability due to reasons like:
Reason #1: Fear of admitting mistakes
Reason #2: Lack of self-awareness
Reason #3: Difficulty setting clear goals
Reason #4: Not seeking feedback or support
But don't worry! We'll show you how to overcome these obstacles and embrace accountability in different areas of your life.

So, let's kick things off by exploring the difference between knowledge and wisdom.
Knowledge refers to the collection of facts, figures, and information that we acquire over time. It's what we learn in school, read in books, or hear from others. Now, wisdom is a whole different ball game.
Wisdom is about understanding the deeper principles of life, knowing when to apply that knowledge, and when to hold back. It's about being able to see the bigger picture and make decisions that are both practical and ethical. With so many talk shows, self-help books, and advice floating around, it's easy to get lost in the noise. So, how do we find our way?
Well, first, we need to learn how to discern knowledge from wisdom. A good starting point is asking ourselves who we turn to for advice and guidance on important life issues. Do you believe in a higher power? Your answers to these questions will help you identify the source of your wisdom.
Now that we've touched on the difference between knowledge and wisdom, let's dive into some questions we should ask ourselves to evaluate the messages we receive. Inspired by Chasing Carrots, here are some key questions to consider:
By asking these questions, you can ensure you're following a path that aligns with your purpose and beliefs.

Welcome back to another episode of The Thumbody Show! Today, we're diving into Birthday Lesson #4: Abundance. We'll explore the idea of being happy in your work, generous with your time and money, and creating opportunities to share your unique gifts with others.
In our previous episodes, we talked about investing in your name and adjusting your relationship with time and what talents or activities make us unique.
Let's start by talking about money. It's no secret that money plays a significant role in our lives. It can bring us abundance and opportunities, but sometimes, it can also cause stress and consume our golden time. I want you to think about how your pursuit of money has affected your life. Have you ever found yourself working long hours just to keep up with the status, security, and material possessions that come with a high-paying job?
Now, picture this scenario: the tide comes in and washes your sandcastle away, taking all your hard-earned coins with it. They soar into the sky like tiny eagles. What's left behind? What truly matters in your life? (Of course, this is a scene from my book, Chasing Carrots)
When we calculate our net worth, we often forget to consider the value of our time and talents—two precious resources we can share with others to make a real difference. The moments you spend helping others and pursuing your passions can genuinely change the world. This is not the kind of net worth that will show up on a financial statement but it will make a statement on how you value others.
In our previous episode, we talked about identifying that one activity or interest that defines who you are. Now, I want you to think about how you can use this gift to benefit someone else. After all, the best way to show appreciation for the unique gifts you've been given is to share them with others.

Welcome back to The Thumbody Show, where we continue exploring personal growth, self-discovery, and making the most of our time. In today's episode, we're diving into Birthday Lesson #3: Necessity.
We'll discuss how to identify and embrace the essential activities that define us and make us who we are.
It's time to take a closer look at those activities in your life that seem to make time vanish—those pursuits that you may have ignored for far too long.
Pay attention to where excellence shows up in your life. If this activity were taken away, you wouldn’t be you. It’s a necessary part of you. The key here is to focus on those areas where excellence and persistence are present—where your heart beats faster, you're more determined, and the activity stays on your mind even when you're not engaged in it. Others might accuse you of being obsessed, but that's simply because this activity is essential to who you are.

Today, we will be covering the topic of time. Time is the great equalizer. We all have 24 hours in a day. How you spend your time will determine if you have left enough margin to help others. Or, are you frantically trying to keep up with life and you can’t imagine giving time away to someone else.
I wrote a book called: "Chasing Carrots: Won't Help You Find Your Purpose if You Were Born to Love Bananas." Over the next few episodes, I'll be sharing insights from my book and guiding you on a journey to uncover your true purpose.
If you’d like to pick up a copy, it’s available on Amazon and most booksellers online.
In "Chasing Carrots," I tell an allegorical tale about a monkey who thinks he is a rabbit. Monkey, our protagonist, has lost his way. He has been distracted by the "carrots" of life and has forgotten who he really is. The stakes are raised as Monkey faces a choice: Figure out who he really is or sacrifice his identity forever.
What is your relationship with time? Do you feel like there is plenty of time to accomplish your goals and you have time to donate to others? Or is your relationship with time a constant and stressful battle where each day ends feeling like you have less and less time to accomplish your goals?
If you are part of the latter, this episode is for you.

Just like Monkey, we will follow a similar path on our quest to discover our true purpose.
There are seven steps we'll need to master, which provide clarity on our journey. These signposts include our character, our relationship with time, the gifts or skills we possess, our relationship with giving, where we seek wisdom, and our level of discipline. By putting solid effort into these six areas, we'll be led to the fruit or results produced - the evidence of living a purpose-driven life focused on others.
So, are you ready to dive into my book and follow Monkey's journey to discover your true purpose?
Join me in the upcoming episodes as I guide you through the six steps - Character, Time, Gifts, Giving, Wisdom, and Discipline - and uncover the Tree of Character.
Today’s episode is about character… specifically your name.
