Nothing quite hits like a Mitchell Moses return game as Parramatta's talismanic halfback helped inspire a courageous, and chaotic, 22-20 victory over the Brisbane Broncos in Round 21. Joash Papalii played a starring role for most of the night with the #1 on his back but was handed a cruel last minute tribulation and then reprieve in as many breaths as Reece Walsh was found to be offside in the game deciding moment.

Fans didn't even get a solitary moment of respite to celebrate the return of Mitchell Moses as news broke today that Isaiah Iongi had sustained a fractured hand/wrist. The Tip Sheet try to find their feet in the wake of the brutal news as the Eels prepare to take on the Broncos. It wasn't the only big news of the day with confirmation that Ryan Matterson will explore opportunities in England this year...although he could still be an Eel in 2026.

It is a damning indictment on both the post-game process and the match officials as the wild inequities of the NRL rise to the surface.

Sixties and Forty20 unload on the broken system and the maddening inconsistency of the NRL after the Eels find themselves on the wrong side of the ledger yet again.

Newcastle dominate the NRL headlines this week with the axe rumoured to be coming for Adam O’Brien while Kalyn Ponga could be looking for the exit with speculation swirling his manager is shopping the star fullback around. The Dogs pull another switcheroo while Cody Walker is done for the year as a calf injury shuts him down.

A plucky first half effort from the Eels gave way to a fragmented second stanza as Parramatta fell to the Panthers in Round 19. While Parramatta were keen to chance their arms and test the reigning premiers, a mounting error toll - and yes, some poor officiating - allowed Penrith to stretch out to what was ultimately a comfortable victory. There is plenty of concern for Kitione Kautoga as well after he succumbed to a hip-drop tackle in the first half.
