After his feature film, Surge, director Aneil Karia returned to a short film project and it seems to have paid off in terms of exposure and reward as The Long Goodbye, Karia's collaboration with Riz Ahmed, is now nominated for Best Short Film at the 94th Academy Awards. Paul talked to Aneil about packing so much content into a short film, working with Riz, navigating the virtual festival circuit and much more!

The 1980 comedy 9 to 5 had enormous appeal with moviegoers, but also made a statement about women's inequality in the workplace, a statement that's needed reiterating ever since then. The film had an impact on twin brothers Gary and Larry Lane, who head the team behind Still Working 9 to 5, a new documentary about the making and legacy of the classic film. Paul talked to them about making the doc, their history with Dolly Parton, and their upcoming world premiere at SXSW.

In the wake of Marvel movies returning to the big screen, Movie Guys Paul Preston and Ray Schillaci talk to professional badass Katie Hooten about her time working in visual effects with Marvel, her work in groundbreaking animated features and her current position working on projects that come through Technicolor. How could we not interview her? Her favorite movie of all time is Raiders of the Lost Ark!

Courtney Gains is working. AGAIN. He appears in a new film, Queen Bees with no less than Ellen Burstyn and James Caan. This, after averaging around three projects a year since the early '80s. Back to the Future, Children of the Corn, The 'Burbs, and on and on and on and he remains a very laid back cat to talk to. Here, he chats movies, music and more with Paul Preston.

Jack Daniel is that guy! The guy who is your hype announcer for movie previews, promos and more. And he's here to answer all your "How the hell does that even work?" questions. We get the lowdown on how he fits in the great ad machine that builds a movie trailer, his road to being a go-to guy in the industry and, thankfully, there's time for bits. Glorious, glorious bits.  And, as ever, a chat about Jack's favorite movie of all time.

Actor David Del Rio's second directorial effort is streaming now on Amazon Prime! It's called Road Head and Del Rio jumped online with his Movie Trivia Schmoedown teammate Paul Preston to chat it up. He's got great insight on directing and combining tones in this weird and over-the-top thriller comedy. Plus, they look forward to the In The Heights film (Del Rio performed in the Broadway show) and talk about Del Rio's favorite film of all time.

The great 2016 documentary Strike a Pose, which explores the lives of the dancers from Madonna's Blond Ambition tour after the madness of the tour ended, is back in virtual cinemas! To celebrate Truth or Dare's 30th anniversary and the re-release of Strike a Pose, director Reijer Zwaan and dancer Kevin Stea spilled their own truths on Paul Preston and guest co-host Mary Gent about bringing the dancers and gay icons back together and the emotion that came with it.

Strike a Pose is available now at FilmMovement.com

Jessica Ellis is the writer/director of the new indie film What Lies West, which is garnering great reviews and getting a rollout all over the VOD platforms of the world. Paul likes nothing more than indie film stories and Jessica has 'em, from fires to surgery to the pandemic, but you want to tune in for the sheer joy of moviemaking on display here. Jessica had a game cast and a talented crew. Give her a listen, then check out the movie!
