This one is a doozy, folks. I have been thinking about this chat for a month, so pumped to share it with all of you. Bud and Melody Winderweedle are amazing humans that just carry an energy of welcome and love that is palpable. They lead and co-pastor a community in Chattanooga called Ekklesia, and it’s humming with good stuff. Bud and I talked about so many things (and didn’t even get to some of the cool things I like about him, not least of which is the fact that he brews beer), but I think we both summed it up in the desire to keep digging for the real and for hope.

This is basically a podcast tag-team with To/From and Bud’s new project, the Roots & Branches podcast. It was a delightful experience to co-interview one another, I hope you’ll be uplifted by it.

Today’s guest, Silicone Boone, is releasing some truly amazing stuff into the world. The upcoming album, The Reaches, is an epic journey, one comprised of deep layers. Drummer, audio engineer, driver to hot chicken restaurants..... Chris Hickman..... This dude is one of the best friends I've ever had. Not kidding, friends. It brings me a lot of joy to share this rich and wandering conversation that I was able to record with Chris, in the very room that made most of this year's songs possible. I love the Hickman's story, I'm thankful that Jenn and Chris let me crash in their home and take weekends to make music, and I really hope that you'll get encouragement from this chat about change, adaptation, and wanting to see meaningful art live. Chris also did a great job describing his journey into understanding his personality more, I enjoyed talking to another person that relates to the personality of the 6 on the enneagram (see the recent Michael episode). Chris is a courageous human, I hope you all get to chill with him someday. Also, Chris plays video games foolishly, you'll hear what I'm talking about towards the end. Okay.
