The Todd Allbaugh Show episodes

  • Civic Media Spotlight (Hour 2)

To begin the second hour, Todd from the Todd Allbaugh Show brings Cracked.com writer/editor Keegan Kelly, who joined us to talk about the cancellation of Colbert's show, to talk about the end of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Right at the end of the segment, Keegan reminds us that the head of the FCC wrote part of Project 2025. This isn't about what Kimmel said in his show on Monday. It's just an excuse to execute the next part of their plan. I thought it was very punchy.

Karen Schneider, publisher of the Oshkosh Herald and the Neenah News joins Lisa Hale from Valley Focus to talk about the stories in the September 17th edition of the Oshkosh Herald. From the status of a sales tax for the county and more, read this week's edition or find out how you can get a copy of the Herald at https://oshkoshherald.com/.

Next, John and Gordy have a light hearted conversation with Gary Albrecht, cancer survivor and soon to be 1k Badger Challenge Runner. He talks about the challenges of having cancer, what it took for him to overcome this disease, and why he runs in marathons at 75 years old!

To end the Civic Media Spotlight, Chad Holmes sits down during the WXCO Morning Report with Wausau Sustainability, Energy and Environment Committee members Jean Abreu and Carol Lukens.

  • Civic Media Spotlight (Hour 1)

To kick things off, we have the Matenaer on Air Show with Jane and Greg discussing a story regarding an elected official who is receiving death threats because of his support of a law restricting certain flags from flying. And though we disagree with the law, we remind the audience that political violence (whether the action or threat) is not right and gets nothing solved. We remind everyone that voting is how we raise our voices and if you don't like who represents you, seek out those who will and vote them into office. We then go on to highlight a person who is very upset with us and shows it through the Voice Note feature of the Civic Media App and though his words are colorful, graphic and a bit unhinged, we support his right to speak his mind and would never want his 1st Amendment rights infringed.

Dr. Kathleen Bartzen Culver, Director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, joins the Maggie Daun Show to discuss the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel. She warns that efforts to amend or undermine a free press squander one of democracy’s core protections. Dr. Bartzen Culver emphasizes that democracy cannot function without a free, independent, and objective press.

On Mornings with Pat Krietlow, a new made-up vaccine review panel created by Health Secretary Robert Kennedy, Jr., parents need a way to look beyond the quackery in Washington, DC to get science-based answers to their vaccine questions. We talk to Wisconsin pediatrician Dr. Kellie Snooks, who has started a new video series for UpNorthNews that includes information about how vaccines work. She gives parents advice on how to work with trusted, fact-based physicians to determine how to keep their children safe from preventable diseases that are, unfortunately, likely to skyrocket soon.

To end the first hour, Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba is joined by comedian Greg Schwem for a discussion on his upcoming charity event for colorectal cancer at Zany's in Rosemont. The guys humorously debate the best athletes-turned-actors, with nods to David Bautista and Jason Statham, and discuss bad stadium behavior, including a viral Phillies game incident.

  • Remembering Songwriter Brett James (Hour 2)

As grilling season wraps up, Todd asks us What’s Worse: gas grills or charcoal grills? Not everybody has the same stance as Hank Hill. We take your calls and texts on this contentious issue.

In some less-than-pleasant news, prolific songwriter Brett James passed away when his private jet crashed. Songwriters do not often get the credit they deserve when other artists perform them. Todd walks us through some of his favorites from Brett James.

  • Uniting People Through Sports with Bill McCoshen (Hour 1)

At the top of today’s show, WRCO/WRCE Station Manager Phil Nee joins us to share a fun event happening this Saturday night in the ol’ RC. The Starlite Drive-In in Richland Center will be playing Sixteen Candles and Spinal Tap 2. If you come early at 5:30, Phil will be hosting a live edition of his Saturday night show, Those Were The Days!

Here at The Todd Allbaugh Show, we believe that our humanity comes before our political beliefs. Taking the time to understand people we disagree with helps us remember that great things happen in our communities every day. We’ve had political strategist Bill McCoshen on our show to talk politics before, but today, he’s here to talk about his other role: Founder and President of the Janesville Jets hockey team! The Jets are playing tomorrow in the brand-new Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center.

  • Chicken, Beef, and AI Slop Ads (Hour 2)

This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: fried chicken or steak? We take a bunch of calls and texts on which protein you prefer.

At the bottom of the hour, Todd shares the latest reporting from Tom’s Guide on a swath of malicious Android apps that Google has taken down from the Play Store. Be careful out there on the internet!

We wrap up the show with a review of last night’s Brewers win.

  • Freedom Of The Press Is In Jeopardy with Keegan Kelly (Hour 1)

Last night, it was announced that late night host Jimmy Kimmel’s show has been “indefinitely suspended” following a brief comment on the assassination of Charlie Kirk. You can listen for yourself, but Kimmel does not in any way lie or condone last week’s horrific act of violence. Here to break it all down is Cracked.com Writer/Editor Keegan Kelly, who previously joined us to discuss the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s program. Deciding not to renew a show is one thing, but pulling the plug in an afternoon marks a new era of government censorship. Media corporations like Skydance, Nexstar, and Disney appear to have no issue kneeling to President Trump’s wishes to make as much money as possible at any moral cost.

On that note, we are proud to work for Civic Media, who continue to reaffirm their commitment to honesty and transparency every day. This morning, our COO Kory Hartman sent the following to our talk show hosts and producers:

“We believe in freedom of speech and freedom of the press and we stand behind our hosts.

As always, double-check facts, be transparent with our listeners, and invite them to join the conversation.”

Yet another candidate for Wisconsin Governor has emerged in Representative Francesca Hong. We are happy to welcome her to share why she is running for Governor. Learn more about her campaign at francescahong.com.

  • Bad Budgets and Bad Smells (Hour 2)

At the end of this month, Congress faces yet another shutdown if they can’t get their act together and pass a budget. Believe it or not, no federal government has successfully passed a budget by the deadline since 1996.

This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: a bad smell or a bad taste? We take your calls and texts over which one is easier to get rid of.

At the bottom of the hour, we take a quick look into what’s going on at eBaum’s World. In the last few months, they’ve started a “spicy” side of the site, which contains NSFW content that is generally not suitable for broadcast. However, their recent interview with an adult performer regarding ethical nonmonogamy has piqued Todd’s interest. Keep your eyes and ears peeled, as we may welcome an adult performer to the show in the near future. We might even have to reach out to Joe Gow!

After our brief escapade into acceptable adultery, Todd returns to sports. According to Lori Nickel at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a Wisconsin-based Olympic speed skater has recovered from a potentially career-ending injury.

  • Something Bad Is Happening In Oz (Hour 1)

This afternoon, Pat Kreitlow of Mornings with Pat Kreitlow and Trygve Olson of The Lincoln Project make their typical Wednesday visit to our program. This morning, Rep. Francesca Hong announced her candidacy for Governor of Wisconsin on Mornings with Pat Kreitlow. As more candidates come out of the woodwork, the Democratic primary is becoming very crowded. A successful campaign will have to travel beyond the big Democratic bases of Madison and Milwaukee.

Pat and Trygve also weigh in on the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. People in a variety of industries both public and private are being fired for quoting Kirk on social media, and often without any commentary included. Congressman Derrick Van Orden is introducing legislation to claw back federal funding from the entire community of Eau Claire because of a handful of social media posts containing only quotes.

  • Remembering Robert Redford with Pete Schwaba (Hour 2)

In today’s second hour, Todd plays a clip from legendary sports broadcaster Jim Nantz on a generational shift in which media careers people aspire to. With the rise of social media and podcasts, young people seem to be drawn to being famous rather than being a good storyteller.

This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: subscriptions or purchases? We take your calls and texts on whether you’d rather pay as you go or all at once.

At the bottom of the hour, Pete Schwaba of Nite Lite joins us to remember actor and director Robert Redford, who passed away this morning at 89.
