Todd begins today’s second hour with a tribute to his friend Linda Gentes, who passed away this weekend at the age of 76. Linda was a member of the Richland County Board and an integral part of UW-Richland Center’s international student program. She was a great mentor to those students and to Todd personally and will be remembered for her incredible positive impact on the community. 

Todd also updates us on a tragic drunk driving accident that killed two Marquette University students. Please drink responsibly. Take a moment to think before getting behind the wheel, and you will save lives.

This morning, another Democrat announced a gubernatorial campaign: Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. Much like LG Sara Rodriguez, he posted an initial campaign video, which you can find on his Twitter/X @DavidCCrowley. Todd provides some background on Crowley’s political experience. Our friend and colleague Pat Kreitlow will be interviewing Executive Crowley tomorrow morning on Mornings with Pat Kreitlow at 8:50. We will also be interviewing him tomorrow afternoon. 

After touching on Executive Crowley’s campaign announcement, we catch up with some national politics. Sec. Robert F Kennedy Jr.’s latest medical debacle involves a claim that taking Tylenol during pregnancy causes autism, which is not substantiated in any way. Our very own Dr. Kristin Lyerly posted on Instagram to share the opinion of real doctors on this subject.

Ortiz-Velez has been barred from accessing the building in Madison after alleged threats of gun violence. She claims that she’s being targeted for being a Democratic gun owner. We’ve long known that HHS Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr. has little to no medical knowledge. This morning, Republican Senator Bill Cassidy– who is a medical doctor– put the Secretary in a box. Sen. Cassidy pointed out RFK Jr.’s hypocrisy in supporting President Trump’s impact on the COVID-19 vaccine while simultaneously claiming that the vaccine killed more people than the virus. Todd breaks down the conversation. 

As AI continues to rise in popularity, data centers are being built all over our state. This may sound like a positive addition to the job market, but as Charlie Berens recently highlighted, there’s a lot more to the story.
