Before we go full force into the impeachment trial, we want to take time and talk with US Army Lt. Col.(ret) Sargis Sangari. He was born and raised in Rezaiyeh (Urmia), Iran. He immigrated to the United States in 1980 at age ten after the Iranian Revolution. Mr. Sangari is a retired US Army Colonel who saw extensive combat in the Middle East as a Special Operations Forces soldier and who, after retirement, continues to advise the fledgling Assyrian Christian Army in Iraq known as Dwekh Nawsha with his military expertise. He's also running for Illinois's 9th Congressional seat.

The House of Representatives has impeached President Trump. He is one of 3 Presidents in history to be impeached - Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton and now Donald Trump. The impeachment trial starts tomorrow in the Senate. Ken Star, Alan Dershowitz, and Pam Bondi are a few of the lawyers that make up President Trump's legal team which has been described as a "reality show dream." There is a gun control rally in Richmond, Virginia today. The New York Times has endorsed Elizabeth Warren AND Amy Klobuchar. Next week, hour 2 of The Todd Huff Show will begin.

Nancy Pelosi puts on another "solemn" show during the signing of the articles of impeachment. As do the Democrat member's delivering the articles to the Senate. But, is it really solemn & sad when you're handing out souvenir pens? It's all about appearances and politics. Now facing the impeachment trial in the Senate, there are grumblings that President Trump should not give the annual State of the Union address.

Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders have a heated discussion after the debate on Tuesday night. The audio was released and they each accused the other of calling each other liars. The articles of impeachment have been signed and are ready to send over to the Senate.

Six Democrats took the stage in Iowa last night for the last debate before the Iowa Caucuses. As usual, the candidates used identity politics to make their points as to why they should be the next Presidential nominee. It's never about the substance of their ideas.

The protests and uprising of Iranians could be the beginning of the end to a regime that has been in power for 40 years. They have a chance to rise up and change their government from heavy handed oppression to having more freedom. We're officially in an election year. Tonight is the first Democratic Debate of the New Year. Let's see who's going to be giving away the most government freebies. President Trump is greeted with applause & cheers at the College Football National Championship.

Iran has admitted and taken responsibility for unintentionally downing the Ukrainian airliner. Now, Iranian citizens are protesting, "Death to the dictator." The people are angry and know they've been lied to. President Trump tweeted in English & Farsi in support of the Iranian people. Democratic Presidential candidate, Pete Buttigieg, hints at blaming the U.S. for the 176 deaths on that Ukrainian plane. John Kerry says the money, $1.3 billion, given to the Iranian government during the nuclear deal is not being used.

It's been a busy start to the New Year. The death of Iranian Gen. Soleimani, attacks from Iran on our US Forces in Iraq and also the Ukrainian plane crash in Iran. Regarding the plane crash, initially Iran came out and said it was mechanical errors. Now, multiple outlets are saying the plane was brought down by one of Iran's missiles during the attack on US Forces earlier this week. We also discuss the shooting at the church in Texas last week.

The airstrikes from Iran on US Forces on Tuesday evening were not targeting heavily occupied sites. Did Iran do that intentionally? If so, why? President Trump came out on Wednesday with his statement on the situation.

Iran has taken responsibility for launching dozens of missiles on US troops stationed in Iraq. So far, 2 Iraqi military bases have been hit. No report of casualties at this time. Our conflicts with Iran date back to 1979 during the hostage crisis.
