What happens when one parent dies during your childhood and the other is unpredictable? Introducing.....anxious attachment!
Today's episode looks at Attachment Theory and how our earliest interactions with our parents can shape our relationships way into adulthood. It's the reason why some of us can't write a text without imagining it will end a friendship or will rehearse a conversation with our other half nine times before we open our mouth.
It's also, as I've learned, not insurmountable. But it does require a lot of hard work (although not as hard as resisting the temptation to pick at a spot.....)
** Note: I'm quite obviously not an expert. Just someone with lived experience who has found this knowledge useful for my own growth and self-development.
