In Philippians 4:10-13 we will find the heart of Christian contentment

As we look at Philippians 4:6-7, we will see a command, an instruction, and a promise for each of us as we come to know, and grow in, and treasure “The Peace of God.”

In our passage today is Paul’s inviting command: rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice.

The main idea of our passage is that in order for us to stand firm in our faith, we need to follow Godly examples. It is seasoned saints that will help model for us what it looks like to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Paul wants to motivate us to continued growth in Christ by looking to those who are running with eternity in their eyes, and grace displayed in their lives. Ultimately, Paul wants us to be a people who stand firm in the Lord together as a church family. In Philippians 3:17-4:1 we will see 1. An Invitation to Imitation, 2. A Warning for Enemies of the Cross, 3. A Reminder for People of the Cross, and 4. A Loving Exhortation.
