We are back on the Melbourne Cup Path in The Trainers Hut. On this weeks episode we check in on a few of the 'Black Bookers' that have been mentioned in the series so far as well as preview a few for the 2020 Melbourne Cup.

The spin-off series for The Trainers Hut Raceday Review kicks off with Memsie Stakes Day at Caulfield with a focus on the early part of the program. Todd Blum is joined in The Trainers Hut by Director of Express Racing, Darcy Judd, who cheered home Express Pass in Race 2 and James Bester and partners have the flying Persan who could be on his way to the Cups.

Nick Ryan was recently announced as the Colin Alderson Award winner, which is the Racing Victoria Rising Star for Trainers. Nick has only been training for five years but has experienced all aspects of the Racing Industry including winning a Senior Jockeys Premiership whilst still an Apprentice. Nick joins Todd Blum in The Trainers Hut this week to speak about 'stable-stars' Sircconi, Mahamedeis as well as some up and coming horses.

After visiting Woodside Park during the week to look at the stallions at the farm there was a noticeable admission from the stallion barn, Written Tycoon. The star Victorian sire will stand this season at Arrowfield Stud in the NSW Hunter Valley with the two farms teaming up for something new to the stud-game. Its exciting times for Woodside so this week Todd speaks to CEO James Price about the Written Tycoon move and the stallions on the 2020 roster.

A jockey joins Todd Blum in The Trainers Hut for the first time this week as Campbell Rawiller features on the show. Cam speaks about his father Nash, who is also a jockey, and some of his memories of him as well as his first race ride against the old man and his first win. Cam also speaks about the day in the life of a jockey and how the apprenticeship works.

2020 has been an indifferent year by everyone's standards but the show had to go on for Australia's oldest Auction House, Inglis. General Manager of Bloodstock Sales and Marketing, Sebastian Hutch, joined Todd Blum inThe Trainers Hut this week. Sebastian talks about the landscape of this year's sales season and how the results fared.

We are back on the Melbourne Cup Path with the second edition featuring two-time Cup winning trainer, Rob Hickmott. Successful in 2012 with Green Moon and Almandin saluting in 2016 Rob may have a major say in the 2020 Cup with one Shabau and Django Freeman both heading in that direction. Todd speaks to Rob about the use of Macedon Lodge with these two stayers in their Spring campaigns, a property Rob spent so much time working at whilst with the Lloyd Williams operation.

Newgate Farm resident stallion Deep Field surpassed his sire to hold a new record for Australian winner's for a second-season sire. He bettered Northern Meteor's 80 wins over the weekend so this week on The Trainers Hut Todd Blum is joined by Newgate Farm Director of Stallions Bruce Slade. Bruce speaks all things Deep Field as well as his first son to stand at stud in Cosmic Force who will stand alongside his old-man as well as his new personal venture Kestrel Thoroughbreds.

Todd Blum is joined in The Trainers Hut this week by the Highclere Racing Australia General Manager, Tess Drennan. Highclere racing are the UK's largest syndicator and their presence in Australia is growing rapidly. On the back of horses such as Libran and Opinion a new wave of imports are making their make with Lord Belvedere shaping up as a Cups contender and Bartholomeu Dias won at just his second Australia start. There are also some locally purchased horses coming through as well. Tune in to find out more.

This week Bloodstock Agent Sheamus Mills joins Todd Blum in The Trainers Hut to discuss the upcoming Inglis July Sales Series and how Victorian's will not be allowed to attend. That's vendors or potential buyers. They also discuss some of the stallions Sheamus is bullish about and some of the things he considers when mating a mare. Amongst the resulted racehorse he has mated is Melbourne Cup hero Vow And Declare.
