This week on The Trainers Hut Todd Blum wanted a guest who had a link to the Royal Ascot Carnival. The famous five-day event was held last week and when thinking of someone who would tie in nicely Jeremy Gask came straight to mind. Jeremy started training in Adelaide and then found himself training in England for 10 years before recently returning to train at Scone. Jeremy trained the warrior Medicean Man who ran at Royal Ascot seven times in eight years.

This week we go in The Trainers Hut with returning trainer Sam Kavanagh. It has been well noted that Sam faced a lengthy ban that was reduced to over four years on appeal and he has been granted a trainer's licence and given a second chance. Todd speaks to Sam about some of the horses that have been a part of the rebuild of the stable as well as some of the other things that have been keeping him busy.

Mr. Cojuangco's Gooree Park has recently opened the gates to outside clients for the first time after operating as one of Australia's premier private training and breeding farms. Todd also talks about the recent Godolphin reduction sale and the Spring Carnival program has been set.

This week in The Trainers Hut Todd speaks to John North who is Principal of Bowness Stud. It was announced this week that the magnificent D'Argento will be standing at Bowness based in Young, NSW. The big grey son of So You Think was a crowd favourite throughout his career which was capped with a Group 1 victory in the Rosehill Guineas (2000m). Todd also discuses some of the issues in the racing world with Spring Programming and Crowds back at the track.

This week in The Trainers Hut Todd Blum speaks to leading bloodstock agent Suman Hedge who is responsible for two of the most exciting horses in training at the moment. Django Freeman is coming off his Australian debut and Schabau recently made his return from injury after winning three from three in the country. Todd also discusses the news of the sale of Shadow Hero to Hong Kong where he will be trained by David Hayes and the whole that will be left in the current crop of three-year-olds before next season with a number of colts heading off to stud.

Shane has been a mentor to Todd and the pair talk about some of the stable stars including I Am A Star and more recently Streets Of Avalon. They also discuss some of the things that Shane looks for in a yearling at the sales and the selection process that goes with that.

Todd Blum takes you inside The Trainers Hut with a focus on two races that will have a big influence on the 2020 Group 1 Emirates Melbourne Cup (3200m) later in the year. Todd speaks to Dan Fletcher who is a part owner of Russian Camelot, the impressive winner of the Group 1 SA Derby (2500m), as well as a look at the race itself. Todd also looks at the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes (2800m) run this weekend at Flemington for a 'golden-ticket' to the Melbourne Cup.

On the back of the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphetville on Saturday, Adam talks about his father's influence on the global breeding industry as well as his own career. He also discusses his exciting 2020 stallion roster and the famous Swettenham silks becoming more of a presence on the race track.
