Brittani Farrell : On this episode Moth Moth Moth returns to host this week with contributing co-hosts Nikita RamkissoonToday the trans narrative co-hosts sit with vocal coach, rehabilitation specialist Brittani Farrell as they talk about vocal training, singing, gender affirming voice training, and how to use your voice in activism. “Brittani Farrell is a speech-language pathology clinical fellow specializing in voice, swallow, and upper airway with Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, a clinical singing voice rehabilitation specialist, and a voice teacher. She owns Lotus Voice Studio, a small business for private instruction with the singing voice, singing voice rehabilitation, and gender affirming speaking and singing voice, which has been open since 2017. Brittani completed her bachelor's degree in music education from Colorado State University in 2013, followed by a master's in voice performance with equivalencies in choral conducting from the University of Northern Colorado in 2017. She has spent over 7 years teaching choir and music in schools, in addition to nearly a decade of private vocal instruction. Brittani values vocal healing as a holistic process that encompasses quality medical care from a laryngologist, speech-language pathologist, singing voice rehabilitation specialist and voice teacher, as well as somatic and mental healing with the guidance of therapists/somatic healers, and spiritual healers, among other professionals.
