Carrie lived in Detroit, Michigan virtually her entire life. She's an overexuberant graduate of Michigan State University, professionally, she's in marketing, working on several well-known national and international brands.
We all have our unique stories. When she started to transition, she described herself as being ‘scared, nervous, petrified . . . happy, excited and strong’. While certainly those nervous moments still exist at times, she knows this is the right time for her, as she almost immediately finds that she living her very best life.
Perhaps like many, while growing up, she was challenged by only living ‘a life’, not necessarily ‘her life’, with a perspective that had a whole different set of thoughts, feelings, emotions, and insight than what was being projected. But when she realized who she was, she couldn’t let that stay inside her. As one friend describes it, she's been on the ‘fast track’ ever since.
She has sincerely been fortunate for the support and so many positive influences in her life. She has a wonderful group of beautiful, fun, trusting friends who among them never wavered in their sincerity towards me, making me a part of their lives. They have shared their compassion, insight, and love, helping her through her challenges and celebrating her true joy.
The Detroit community may be relatively small in comparison to other larger cities. But they have many who are supportive and caring. And out of respect for those sincerely caring friends, community, and those before her, she always tries to share the same.
She adores fashion . . . obsessed with high heels, dresses, and skirts . . . traveling, exploring, going out into the world, having fun with her friends.
