Christ's prayer for the disciples, for the church, and for you, is a model for us on what worship and prayer can and should look like. A call for unity in his name. A name that is a crucified name. A name that is connected to a life that reminds us that the life we think we have in ourselves is nonexistent. Join us as we look at John 17, Christ's prayer that he makes before the crucifixion. Let it wash over you as his gift to you, and may we use it to help us glorify the Son and the Father through what has been done for us.

The weird speech of God in John 16 is a forecast of the need to for us to be reassured by Christ that his apparent absence is a kind of a good thing. The liturgical calendar is a wonderful resource and rhythm to follow as it brings our creeds into the way we live so that we may better understand how worship impacts our lives from day to day.
