If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times. In this day and age you have to meet your clients where they are. They don’t have time for 3-9wk proposal windows. They want to find answers right now. Aaron Harden of NexGen Workspace has created the perfect solution. Listen in to learn more about furniture as a service.
Aaron heard what our clients were saying. The buying process is too slow and way too complicated. I mean think about it. Someone lands on your website, they’re interested in your product. What’s the next step?
Too often the next step is providing you with their email information so that you can get back to them with additional questions.
Oftentimes your client knows what they want and what they need. They don’t need you to try and sell them on something else. Why make them sit through a sales call only to tell you that they need the one black chair with an order of 500 units?
Listen as Aaron shares how NexGen Workspace is changing the entire infrastructure of the contract interiors industry. You won’t want to miss it. I even stop him several times in the interview just to make sure I understand him correctly.
Why?
Because what he’s saying is changing the landscape of furniture sales overall!
In this episode:
[02:06] Welcome to the show, Aaron!
[02:36] He shares what NexGen is about and what they do.
[04:10] He talks about the three brand promises they have.
[06:51] “Your clients today are on the internet.”
[08:30] Listen as Aaron discusses where the idea for NexGen came about.
[11:49] He shares how they are solving the client's problems by being flexible.
[13:46] He speaks about how their website works.
[16:49] Aaron talks about how fast his company talks to the client about delivery dates.
[18:59] NexGen is simplifying something that in the industry is usually very complex.
[21:53] The website at NexGen is ungated.
[24:14] NexGen is about education and every employee is tasked with bringing in content.
[25:57] I talk about the answerthequestion.com website.
[26:51] Aaron says that his experience has taught him that it’s important to sell solutions instead of brands.
[29:03] NexGen is a process that is going to disrupt the furniture industry.
[30:03] He shares what he sees in the future for NexGen.
[31:37] Thank you for being on the show!

We made it! Here we are at the end of 2021 and what a year it has been. I feel like we say that every year, but we’ve all survived another insane year filled with very high highs and super low lows. Listen as I share a quick podcast wrap up for the year and give you some insights on what to expect in 2022.
First of all, thank you! Thank you to everyone who has been listening to this podcast. It’s because of you that we’ve made it to episode 86 and have over 12,000 downloads to date. That number puts us in the top 10% of podcasts worldwide and it’s all because of you.
Our numbers say that our CEO chats are your favorite episodes. I’m honestly not surprised since we have had some amazing CEOs on the show. If you’re a CEO or know one who could add to the magic of this series, let us know!
Here are a couple of additional fun stats. First, while this podcast is most popular in North America, we also have listeners in Oceania, Asia, Africa, Europe and more. It’s crazy how widely listened to this podcast is. Also, the most downloaded episode of the year was my conversation with the ladies of CBRE.
So, what’s coming up next?
We’re taking January off. We are going to take the month and get caught up on some backend work and I’m excited to come back stronger than ever. We’re also going to do a podcast takeover. Our sponsor, INDEAL, is going to take over the podcast and share some amazing content.
Starting in April, we’ll be sharing new episodes every other week rather than weekly. This will allow us to provide you the best content possible and keep the conversation going.
I wish you all an amazing end of the year and I look forward to having more brilliant conversations in 2022.
In this episode:
[01:25] Thank you for joining me for this final episode of 2021!
[02:01] Let’s kick it off with a few milestone accomplishments for the podcast.
[03:25] We are in the top 10% of all podcasts in the world!
[04:17] Our most popular episodes are the CEO Chat episodes.
[06:29] Looking forward to what’s happening in 2022.
[09:29] “I’m honored to have been able to have some powerful conversations with people sharing the challenges they are facing and their solutions.”
[09:51] I want to read an email I received recently.
[10:59] I am very excited about what 2022 will bring.
[11:35] Thank you for listening and I’ll see you next year!

With the holidays upon us and the start of a new year, many of us are likely feeling or facing burnout. We don’t have to succumb. The most important thing is to understand when we’ve reached burnout and figure out ways to avoid it. Listen in to learn more!
First of all, we need to know the stages of burnout. This is important because the sooner we can identify our burnout, the more likely we’ll be to avoid it all together.
Stage 1: Enthusiasm
Stage 2: Stagnation
Stage 3: Frustration
Stage 4: Apathy
Stage 5: Intervention
If you’ve reached stage five, then it’s time to bring in helping hands. It’s likely however that if you’re in a place of burnout, you’re in one of the earlier stages.
So what do you do when you realize you’ve started creeping toward true burnout? Here are my tips for avoiding burnout.
First, take a time out. Simply stepping away and re-energizing with a lost hobby or a different activity can sometimes be the ticket. Then find ways to adjust your mindset. Our mindset is usually the reason we’re in the deep, dark hole of burnout in the first place, so a realignment of sorts usually helps.
Then, find an accountability partner to help you talk through how you’re feeling and ways to avoid the pit. Next, journal. Seriously. Just writing things out will help you better understand your habits and how you got here in the first place.
Surround yourself with successful people. The people in your life heavily influence your thoughts and behavior. This isn’t to say that successful people don’t get burned out, but they’re usually much better at recognizing it.
Lastly, practice gratitude. This is a big one and it’s a practice that I am 100% behind. When you practice gratitude, you’re putting yourself in the mindframe of realizing the things, big and small, that you’ve been gifted with. This is a powerful way to switch your mindset and find healing.
How do you battle back the burnout?
In this episode:
[02:23] I’m going to share my thoughts with you on how to avoid burnout.
[03:40] The first stage is when we are at our best, which is called enthusiasm.
[04:07] The next stage is called stagnation.
[04:43] The third stage is frustration.
[05:38] Apathy is the fourth stage of burnout.
[05:59] The fifth stage is intervention.
[07:03] Now let's discuss how you can avoid burnout.
[07:22] Tip #1 Take time out.
[08:17] Tip #2 Adjust your mindset.
[09:08] Tip #3 Find an accountability partner.
[09:46] Tip #4 Journal.
[10:11] Tip #5 Surround yourself with successful people.
[10:59] The final tip is to have and express gratitude.
[12:33] I have your back and don’t want anyone to experience burnout.

Now that you know what a digital sales strategy is, how can you implement it? What do you need to create those connections and provide your customers with easily accessible ways to contact you and purchase?
First you need a user-friendly and resourceful website. It’s no longer enough to simply have an online store front. You need to answer your client’s questions with additional content while also asking them for their feedback.
What kinds of content are appropriate?
If it suits your business needs, creating a podcast to answer larger questions within the industry is great. Writing well-researched articles that provide insights into your industry is another great content piece. Remember to do some keyword research and work on building out your SEO.
Then you’ll want to pick one social media platform and get REALLY good at it. You don’t need to be everywhere, but you do need to have conversations with people that point back to your website.
Also, don’t be afraid to be on video. People want to see the person behind the brand. They want to make a deeper connection and are no longer happy with faceless CEOs sitting behind a desk.
There are so many facets to building an amazing digital sales strategy, but when you do it right, the difference you’ll see in your revenue is astounding. Are you ready to up-level your sales strategy?
Listen in to learn how.
In this episode:
[01:47] I want to share some strategies for building out a digital sales strategy.
[01:49] #1 Have a user-friendly, resourceful website.
[02:43] It's about valuable information, not just product information.
[05:46] #2 Research and write an article.
[07:21] #3 I encourage you to pick one social media platform and get really good at it.
[09:42] #4 Video is so powerful that you need to get engaged in video.
[11:45] I share some easy ways to get started taking videos.
[13:15] I discuss some free tools that can help you.
[14:57] #5 I talk about an app that allows you to link your bio and brings everything together and allows you to be found.
[17:38] Thank you for listening!

We are living in a digital world and our sales strategies must shift to comply. I recently did a training session for INDEAL University talking all about digital sales strategies and how to elevate your brand and your business. Listen in as I share more about digital sales and why you need to incorporate it now.
Do you know what constitutes digital marketing and sales?
Have you ever looked up a product on Google and then moments later you see ads in Facebook and Instagram from that business? That’s digital marketing. It’s a way to show you potential customers information they are actually searching for.
Additionally, digital marketing and sales allows you to become more intimately connected with your ideal clients and customers. For instance, if your digital strategy included LinkedIn posts, your future customers are likely on LinkedIn. They comment, you comment back, a conversation starts and before you know it, they’re purchasing from you.
LinkedIn is only one platform that you can do this on. There are many!
Digital sales and marketing allows you to build brand trust and loyalty in a unique way. You can put together a true content strategy by asking your audience what they want to know more about. There are so many ways to build deeper relationships and more meaningful connections.
Listen in to this first part of my Digital Sales Strategy class and then stay tuned for part 2 next week.
In this episode:
[01:57] Welcome to part 1 of this two part series.
[02:41] A digital strategy makes your brand readily available and easy to find.
[03:26] Listen as I share some powerful forms of digital marketing content.
[04:55] Three areas that you need to focus on when building a digital platform.
[06:51] Why digital marketing is important now.
[08:32] 60% of Instagram users say they discover and buy products they’ve seen on the app.
[10:33] Which questions should you ask yourself when building brand trust?
[12:30] 78% of consumers prefer to be engaged with you and your brand on multiple platforms.
[13:54] I agree with anyone who believes that cold calling is dead. It’s time to switch your mindset.
[16:40] Learn what I call the fifteen minutes of fame.
[18:08] We find new customers today by allowing them to find us.
[19:19] Thanks for listening to part I, stay tuned for part II next week.
