After becoming legally blind at the age of 19, creative writing helped Krystle discover hope and a determination to thrive in spite of adversity. She would later transpose those inspirational poems onto artful canvases. As a legally blind Mom of two small kids she saw a need in the children’s book market for more accessible print options. She once again tapped into her creative writing skills to produce the accommodation that was not available to her. Krystle launched Inside Ability Books as an outlet for her creativity and passion for inspiring and helping others. Over the last 15 years, Dr. Williams has worked in teaching and leadership capacities across K-12 charter, independent, and early childhood settings. From 2020-2023, she served as Brooklyn Kindergarten Society’s Deputy Director of Family and Community Engagement, where she managed the Family Services team across all seven centers, oversaw student enrollment processes, and worked closely with all enrichment and health consultants to best support BKS’ children and families. Dr. Williams is passionate about providing opportunity and access to young children and their families. Her educational philosophy resonates deeply with Brooklyn Kindergarten Society's mission - to nurture young learners and diligently work in partnership with families to ensure children reach their highest potential.

As robotaxis (also called autonomous vehicles or AVs) are set to be deployed on the streets of New York, it may seem impossible for New York City’s infamous yellow taxis to be replaced. But the future of ride sharing and mobility for New Yorkers is pulling up to the curb. While AVs are already deployed and available for ridesharing through Uber on the West Coast and Texas, the eventual and imminent deployment on New York City’s busy streets may seem like a step too far, however studies have shown the clear benefit of this technology: it saves the lives of passengers and pedestrians from distracted (texting for example), drunk, and reckless driving. A recent report, which Chamber of Progress commissioned, showed that in Los Angeles alone, AVs could save over 1,000 lives. When deployed on busy and crowded New York streets, just imagine how this number could grow exponentially.
