Today will be sunny with a high near 75. Then the high temperature tomorrow will slip down to near 68. By the end of the week, it will be sunny, but it will be closer to 61 degrees during the day. If you haven’t gotten your flu shot yet this fall, now’s the time, health officials say.

Tomorrow and Sunday will be sunny too, and a little warmer. High temperatures will be closer to 70 and possibly up to 74 on Monday. The weekend outlook is for mostly sunny skies as well, with highs in the upper 60s to about 70 degrees.

U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry was back in the Tri-Cities yesterday to congratulate workers at the Hanford nuclear reservation.

According to the National Weather Service forecast, the temperature could drop to freezing between 2 and 10 am under clear skies. Tonight could also see temperatures near freezing. Normal lows for the start of October in the Tri-Cities are about 45 degrees.

Tonight will get as low as 36 degrees. Tomorrow should be a little sunnier, with a daytime high near 62, and Wednesday’s high will be about 65. About 4,000 Benton County residents have almost no protection if a fire started in their home.

The cold weather is on its way this weekend. Today won't be overly cold, but the winds will be kicking up, and the chilly weather is on its way. We will see increasing clouds today, with a high near 67. Winds could gust as high as 28 miles an hour. There is a 50 percent chance of showers tonight, and it will remain windy.

Some gusts could get as high as 33 miles per hour, says the National Weather Service. Tomorrow also is expected to be breezy and sunny, with a high near 72. Then, the clouds will move in, along with a 40 percent chance of rain after midnight and into Saturday.

Fall officially started on Monday, and it’s really going to feel like it this weekend. Highs in the Tri-Cities will be dropping into the 60s, and possibly even the 50s, according to the National Weather Service. The high Saturday at the Pasco airport could be as cool as 61, and possibly 59 on Sunday, according to the weather service forecast.

Light winds are expected to continue, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Winds should calm by tomorrow morning, with daytime highs at about 76. In our top story: Kennewick’s ousted fire chief demanded an apology and his job back yesterday, saying the city lied when it said he resigned from his post.
