Having trouble finding true contentment with where you are? Feeling a bit discouraged lately? Stuck in a season of waiting or stillness?
I'm here to encourage you today and help you capture more of what the present has to offer. In this conversation, I’m sharing what I’m personally doing to stay grounded right where my feet are and shedding light on a few tips to help you do the same. I'm also unpacking a few things that might be hindering your ability to find true contentment and experience today's joy.
“Instead of thinking where I’d rather be, I’m leaning into where I am, capturing all that the present has to offer. Perhaps if I can keep my feet grounded in the here and now, and my eyes open to more of its wonder, I’ll be ready to fully soar when the next opportunity comes. And I bet if you do the same, you will be, too.”

In a world striving for “great” - accomplishing great things, being great at what we do and how we do it, when can “good” be good enough? While we’re all taught that the opposite of good is great and to not give 110% is settling and disappointing, there’s something that happens in the striving. We lose so much of the greatness in who we are and we miss the opportunities of doing good, feeling good, and the open doors to great things.

Real stories. Honest conversations. Better questions for real life.
The world is full of hacks for a better life. But a meaningful life isn't built on shortcuts—it’s built in the ordinary, messy, beautiful middle of it all.
I’m 40, I’m raising boys, and I’ve started asking different questions than I did twenty years ago.
What does success actually look like now? What if what worked in one season doesn’t work in the next? What really matters—and what are we spending too much energy chasing?
Each week on The Tried & Truth Podcast, we sit down with authors, entrepreneurs, experts, and thought leaders to explore the questions and honest conversations that surface as life changes.
This isn't about having it all figured out. It’s about finding perspective, asking better questions, and discovering what it looks like to grow, live with intention, and define (or maybe redefine) success for yourself along the way.
Every episode ends with quick takeaways and one grounding question:
What does success look like to you?
Because the definition of a good life can change—and sometimes the questions we need to ask change with it.
No fluff. Just honest conversations, practical perspective, and a little more clarity for the road ahead.
