At just sixteen years old, after being emancipated and working in nightclubs to survive, Kendra was deceived, abducted, and forced into a life she never chose. What began as a weekend trip to Miami with co-workers turned into a nightmare that would change her life forever. Drugged, threatened, and trapped by those she trusted, Kendra spent months in captivity before she made a daring escape and returned to Orlando to fight for her life and her freedom.

Despite facing disbelief from law enforcement and enduring unimaginable trauma, Kendra refused to let her past define her. Her captor was eventually convicted and sentenced to prison—but Kendra’s real victory was reclaiming her power.

Today, she’s the founder of Liberation Team, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and supporting victims of exploitation, and the owner of Avert ’Em, a self-defense and firearms training company that teaches women how to protect themselves. She also appeared on the hit reality series 60 Days In, where she brought her experience and strength to a national audience.

Through raw honesty and fearless reflection, Kendra shares how she rebuilt her life from the ground up, turning trauma into triumph and pain into purpose.
