Jennifer is dedicated to transforming data into a strategic asset, ensuring robust governance frameworks, and fostering a data-driven culture.

Beyond her corporate leadership, Jennifer is an active voice in the data and analytics community. She frequently speaks at industry conferences, webinars, and forums, leveraging her expertise to drive conversations on data best practices and innovation. She is a member of the EDM Council and Women Data Professionals (WDP), where she has mentored aspiring data professionals for several years. She is a board member for her local chapter of DAMA International (DAMA Northeast) where she leads the educational activities for the group, including an 18-week CDMP exam study group. Additionally, she serves on the Global Advisory Board for CDO Magazine, contributing to thought leadership in data and analytics.

Jennifer is also an experienced Toastmaster, holding leadership roles at the district level to support the growth and development of fellow members. Her ability to communicate complex data topics with clarity and impact has made her a respected leader in the field. With a passion for data excellence, mentorship, and industry collaboration, Jennifer continues to shape the future of data management and governance.

In her spare time, she's a creative writer finishing up her seventh novel.

We got the chance to welcome the incredible Ekaterina Khrushch (Katya) to the Women in Data podcast, where she shared her journey from a junior BI analyst to a leadership role in data analytics. 

Katya is an Analytics Delivery Lead at Contentful, the industry-leading composable content platform that powers digital experiences for over 30% of the Fortune 500. She works to transform how organisations use data by combining technical solutions with strategic thinking. Katya focuses on building scalable data foundations and creating clear processes that help teams deliver impactful solutions. Her approach aims to balance technical innovation with practical business value. Starting as a Junior BI Analyst in ad tech, she's grown into her current technical leadership role, where she collaborates with teams to shape data direction. Beyond data, you might find Katya running through Berlin, planning her next travel adventure, and occasionally putting her sommelier knowledge to the test.

In this episode of the Women in Data podcast, the Trust in SODA team caught up with data extraordinaire and Interim Head of Engineering at Babbel, Kimberly Schmitt. From building a data-driven platform to combat homelessness to developing innovative products at Babbel, tune in to hear Kimberly's one-of-a-kind journey through tech. 

Kimberly Schmitt places emphasis on strong team and product development, especially those providing data insights. Her drive to develop high-performing and quality data platforms and related services began when she led efforts to use data to understand and address the challenge of homelessness. She led a team of data analysts and engineers to develop a centralised means of identifying those experiencing homelessness and connecting them to the appropriate housing resources. 

Kimberly has continued to lead teams composed of data analysts and engineers, including software engineers. These teams provide even greater opportunities to explore the ways in which their varying expertise can be used to create collaborative processes to deliver meaningful products. The teams at Babbel are now delivering evolving data products that enable organisations to address workplace challenges and promote targeted learning for their team members.

In 2021 Tereza was awarded the Python Software Foundation community service award.
