  • The Main Things STOPPING You From Losing Belly Fat

If you’re struggling to lose weight, especially that last 10-15 lbs of belly fat, then there’s a number of possible reasons why.

Sugar is the most obvious reason for the majority of people, but it’s not the only reason why. So what else could be causing the weight gain, or blocking your ability to lose the fat?

It could be some foods that you’ve been told are healthy, things like grains and other lectin-containing plants that are driving up your inflammation.

What about seed oils? They are massive drivers of inflammation, and anything that drives up inflammation will drive up weight gain.

Artificial sweeteners should also be avoided, even though I’ve seen some arguments lately about how you need huge amounts to create issues. But I’ve also seen enough research to say I don’t agree with that, even though it is probably a better option than the sugary sodas for weight loss, but not the chemical exposure.

High fructose corn syrup - stay away from this at all costs if you want to be healthy and not carrying extra weight!

Find and eliminate any underlying biotoxins (living and nonliving) as they lead to inflammation and leaky gut which leads to hormone problems and central obesity. This is especially important for those who feel like they already live a super clean lifestyle.

Decrease stress! Stress creates cortisol which keeps you stuck in a fight/flight response, which in turn sends your hormones crazy and leads to weight gain.

Are you exercising, and more importantly doing the right exercise? All of the above are more important than working out, because you can eat like garbage and workout in a calorie deficit and you will lose weight, but you’ll also be loaded with inflammation. Ultimately, you can't outrun a bad diet!

  • BEFORE You Go On Statins, Ask These Questions!

50% of men and 38% of women over the age of 60 are taking statins to lower their cholesterol. But, is this number too high? Are they being overprescribed?

And, are there any dangerous side effects to taking them? Every cell in our body needs cholesterol, so there’s certainly a significant downside to having not enough cholesterol.

What about the fact that so many people who suffer heart attacks have low cholesterol? Some research shows it’s about 50% the number of people with high vs low cholesterol who also suffer heart attacks. So cholesterol alone is certainly not a good indicator for your risk.

If you’ve been prescribed statins, did your doctor also do a CAC scan, or test your sdLDL, oxLDL, LPa, or LDL-P?

It’s these questions, and many more that you absolutely should be asking before you blindly fill your prescription and start taking statin drugs!

  • Rise of the Superbug: Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria

There’s a number of medical discoveries in the last 100 years that can be both life saving and damaging to our health. None more so than antibiotics!

These drugs are literally life-saving for people facing serious bacterial infections.

But they have also created a health epidemic of gut issues, not to mention the frightening rise of antibiotic resistant bacteria - superbugs!

In this episode I share tips for healing your gut after taking a course of antibiotics (and how to hopefully limit your need for them in the future!)

  • Navigating A Cancer Diagnosis

“You’ve got cancer.” This might be one of the scariest sentences you can hear from your doctor.

But before you panic and dive immediately into treatment, you need to do some research and ask some serious questions.

Is chemotherapy and/or radiation the absolute best first line treatment for this cancer? What are the risks? What other treatments are potentially worth trying first?

If you choose to do chemotherapy, do you know what the science shows for how to improve the outcomes and limit the damage?

What about diet - if your cancer doctor tells you that it doesn’t matter what you eat, then you need to immediately find someone else to navigate your treatment!

  • Are You Deficient In Magnesium?

Magnesium deficiency affects virtually all of us! From the way stress burns magnesium stores (and we are all under stress in terms of emotional, chemical, and physical) to the massive depletion of Magnesium and other vitamins and minerals in our produce.

So does this really matter and what can be done about it?

Yes it matters, a LOT! Magnesium deficiency can cause major gut issues, sleep problems, and even anxiety and depression among many other things.

This is why in my opinion virtually everyone should be taking some kind of magnesium supplement along with trying to get more magnesium through their diet.

Start with a good magnesium threonate, then look into adding other types on top of this depending on what issues you face. For example, you can use magnesium citrate for constipation issues, or magnesium glycinate if you don’t sleep well.

  • Do Liver Cleanses Work?

If you search for liver cleanses or detoxes online, you’ll find thousands of articles and videos promoting the next best thing to “clean out your liver.” But do these actually work?

The answer is, it depends on what result means it has “worked.”

If your drainage pathways are blocked and you’re dealing with chronic illness, then you’re not going to get your liver working perfectly and fix your health issues after a 3 day liver cleanse.

In the case of chronic illness, you need to support your liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and overall drainage pathways for a long period of time while attacking the root cause or causes to get true healing.

But, that doesn’t mean that some short term options aren’t useful. For example, I really like “The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush” by Andreas Moritz for people who are clearly blocked up with liver stones, or parasites such as flukes, and aren’t able to open any drainage pathways.

That effective liver flush will hopefully clear out the main blockage and allow you to get back to healing. But it alone is far from what you’ll need to fully heal!

  • The Biggest Myth Around Metabolic Syndrome (Syndrome X)

There’s no official cause behind Metabolic Syndrome, although it’s treated in a very similar way to Type 2 diabetes - drugs!

But, what if we are looking at these conditions the completely wrong way?

In my opinion, both metabolic syndrome and Type 2 diabetes start out as a protective mechanism, where the body is trying to protect itself against the massive blood sugar spikes and inflammation created by the poor diets so many of us consume these days.

The combination of processed sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and nasty vegetable oils (and other seed oils) are ruining the body, so it tries to protect itself.

But this only works in the short term before the insulin resistance starts to kick in.

I’ve seen so many people reverse these conditions through massive lifestyle changes that in my opinion, medications should ONLY be used short term (if at all) while teaching the person how to start reversing everything.

In this episode I cover the lifestyle changes you’ll need to implement immediately if you’re in (or headed towards) metabolic syndrome or type 2 diabetes.

  • The Most Common Mistakes When Managing Viral Infections

Even though people start with good intentions, there’s some common mistakes I see people make when they (or their family members) are struck down with illness.

In this video I cover some of the most common mistakes that are made, and what you should do instead.

Keep in mind that most of these mistakes relate to viral infections, as certain bacterial infections need to be treated much differently and can’t always be taken care of “naturally” at home.

  • How to STOP Waking Up Tired in the Morning

Getting a good night’s sleep is as important (maybe even more so) than eating a healthy diet and exercising consistently.

Yet, a huge number of people don’t get enough quality sleep each night and need caffeine every day to function, which keeps them trapped in a vicious cycle!

In this episode, I discuss how to set up a solid pre-sleep routine, but also what you need to do (and avoid) during the day so that you can wake up fresh every morning and crush your days!
