Heather Shores, Executive Director of the Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home in Rome, Georgia joins Robert to discuss the truth about the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and to clarify the culture and the humanity of the amazing Cherokee Nation at that time. We dig into the history of these incredibly smart, indigenous people who no matter how civilized and learned they became, were still forced from their lands (along with every single tribe) after multiple treaties with the United States government were rendered null time and time again. Robert also points to connections from the novel by Dee Brown, Creek Mary's Blood, a historical fiction novel, but one holding many many truths about the Native American experiences and we examine how the Native American women's roles were far more progressive than even today. Lastly the influence of the Civil Rights Movement is looked at in context with what the Native Americans did at that time as well.
Great talk with Dawn Riley, Former Mitch McConnell DC staffer, and George W. Bush staffer on why she left the Republican Party and has become a registered Independent. She worked for the most powerful Senate Republican first, and then was called back to DC to work for George W. Bush. Even before our conversation got to two great calls: one from another former McConnell staffer, and the other from another former Republican, Dawn was already talking about the "Big Tent" and the reasons why she so passionately had to put her country before her party. A famous quote on an album from Dawn and your Co-Host's college days comes to mind...She brings all her equipment on the bus, and you can not ($#%^) with this band. Credit Violent Femmes Live Album. We are honored to have Pastor David Fryson sit down with us and give a more diverse perspective about President Trump, the now extremely dangerous extreme Right as evidenced by the attack on the Capitol building, and the White Evangelical church.
Outstanding interview with Darlene Price, former Military Police agent, former Federal Agent, and Founder of Truth or Politics in eastern Kentucky knocks it out of the park giving us an her experienced viewpoint about the US Capitol building incident that recently took place.
Great conversation with Bradley back in the house. We cover the Trump Georgia phone call and what it looked like to us hours after what happened in the daytime storming of the US Capitol building by Trump supporters after a Trump rally full of voter fraud allegations and calls to put pressure on his VP, Mike Pence to block the certification of the electorate votes.
Step right up and get the latest Covid-19 and Vaccine information from health experts who have been out on the ground since the beginning. We are truly fortunate to be joined by Sivarchana Mareedu, Masters Degree in Public Health and a doctoral degree candidate along with Philip Boada, who has a Masters Degree in Public Health Epidemiology. They both elicit cheers of joy from your co-host Robert who can barely contain himself as we now have the privilege to share this amazing episode. This is a long one but it deserves every minute it gets and you deserve to hear this health info ear candy. Their opinions and views expressed in this podcast are their own and are not to be construed as representing their places of employment. And that is fine be me, folks, as this is pure unadulterated science here. As always, do the podcast a big favor and tell at least one of your friends to listen to this show and let's grow this audience at least two-fold. And, as good as that, give us a call at 662-374-0778 and let us know what you think in a 3 min call. Finally, you can find us on the Facebook Truth or Politics group site and chime in there as well. Thanks everyone. Have a safe holiday season!!
If there ever was a time our podcast could catch up to the present moment this is that time. We recorded the first segment of this episode two nights after Election Day. My laptop died after an hour and we picked it back up again in a day or so. Since then, we've put out a backlog of two other episodes and now this one and don, don, dahhhhhh... we still don't have an election final result. Unless you have been living under a rock you know that Donald Trump has not conceded the election to Joe Biden. We'll pick up the fine points of Trump's argument in another episode, but let me just go out on a limb here and state the obvious. Trump's people are making claims of election fraud in public speeches, but when they go to court (now over 20 times) the Trump lawyers are backing down and they won't mention their cases are about fraud. Reason being, in public you can lie about your predicament and as long as you aren't committing slander, you can get away with it. But, in court, if a lawyer knowingly lies, they can be held in contempt and it is a crime to do so. That is why, at this point, nearly all of team Trump's claims are baseless and getting thrown out of court and they never claim fraud exists. That is not opinion, that is the truth, but it still works to drive the emotion of team Trump. Ok, on with the show.
We continue with the 2nd part of two episodes covering the Atlantic Article, written by Jeffrey Goldberg in which he claims unnamed sources within earshot of the president complained the POTUS, Donal Trump, among other things, called soldiers in the military "suckers, and losers" while he was visiting memorials in France to commemorate their service to the USA during World War II. For the first time we have listener feedback and we invite them and all our listeners to call back any time. Thanks to everyone for downloading this and all our episodes and give us a little review to if you can. Thanks and have a great day.
Think back to a time when life was much simpler. When we just had reporters saying POTUS Trump said unkind things, and he said the reporters who reported them needed to be fired because he didn't say them. Wellllll, we know he wasn't fond of John McCain, and we know he doesn't trust certain Left-leaning news media, but this time the The Atlantic article criticizing him is corroborated by none-other than someone from the Right-leaning Fox News. We dig into that subject so much it takes two podcast episodes to finish it. Join in and let us know what you think!
