Have you ever been in a cult? Or in a religious community that took things way too far that abuses were allowed and at times even justified? Today I share two ways in which I saw abuses getting justified as being for a greater good.
I am not a expert or doctor of psychology or anything like that however in this podcast I simply share what my experiences were after living in a cult environment for over a decade.
The ways religious abuse was justified in my environment might not be what you have experienced however I feel it is necessary for me to share my story so that these forms of manipulation can be discovered sooner.
In today's episode I am joined by my good friend Daniel Holland who also joined the same religious community that I joined. You will hear his story from his point of view.
The Catholic Church has protocols in place to make sure that exorcisms are done carefully and with much respect to the person in need of deliverance. In today's episode I want to share my experience of having exorcisms done on me and the rest of the members in a bizarre way and how the founder, in his cult like ways, used exorcism at his own whim instead of following the proper protocols which have been put in place by the Church. Unfortunately, many mental issues would be dismissed and they would label everything as a spiritual issue instead.
In todays episode I quoted from an article I found on spiritual abuse. The link to that article can be found here https://www.ncronline.org/news/accountability/spiritual-abuse-occurs-more-frequently-believed-vatican-official-says
Sadly there is spiritual abuse that happens and my goal is that by speaking up people will be aware as to what it is and be open to allowing victims to heal instead of always putting victims down.
There are so many dark areas in cults. I joined a religious community in 2004 and was there for 11 years. I thought I was just joining a good religious community until I discovered after leaving that in fact the way some superiors ran the show was very cult like. The side that wanted to do things the right way are being very transparent and are working on doing things the right way and I applaud them for their endeavors. The side that went with Fr. Bing however are still in the dark and are unable to see the lack of transparency of the Founder. Fr. Bing, it is high time that you make a public apology, along with other members who were abusive as well to do the same. You have the power to do something good in this life and it starts with being transparent and apologize in public.
In today's episode I want to shed light on how people can mistaken being in a toxic environment as carrying your cross and following God. With the cross there should also be prayer and discernment.
For music shout out to my cousin Mauricio. You can find him on Instagram under @decideriobeats and you can find his band @wallatheband
In today's episode I will be discussing some questions and clarifications which were brought up to me by a few of the listeners. We'll be talking a bit more of some of the cult like details and how these tactics make people feel that it is their fault for being the victim. Also will be discussing the need for priests and religious men and women to be allowed to have a proper education.
In today's episode I want to share the tactics which I experienced as well as observed on how the Founder Fr. Bing took the community down a path of fear and paranoia and made it a cult like experience. Trigger Warning: This episode deals with a lot of abuse.
If you would like to read my blog format which may get into different details of the same tactics you may find it here at this link
