It's been a horrifying few days for Ukrainians, as Russia continues its full-scale attack on their homeland. 

While tens of thousands of civilians have managed to make it to safety in neighbouring nations like Poland, others have stayed and taken up arms to help the Ukrainian military fight off one of the world's most powerful forces.  

Today we speak with journalist Fedir Sydoruk on how Ukrainians in Kyiv are fighting back in a way Russia never expected, and we hear from the ABC's Europe Correspondent, Isabella Higgins, in Lviv.
