Teacher and cousin of Black Lives Matter founder ‘Tased to death’ by LAPD, San Francisco reparations panel pitches $5M — each — to black residents, and Illinois Governor Pritzker blasts sheriffs for refusing to enforce new gun-control law. Let's get uncomfortable!
1. A cousin of Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors was killed by Los Angeles police after he got in a traffic accident and officers who showed up repeatedly tased and restrained him in the middle of the street, according to body-camera footage and his family’s account. 2. A San Francisco panel studying reparations has proposed a one-time payment of $5 million to each black resident of the city deemed eligible as recompense for the “decades of harm they have experienced.” 3. Illinois sheriffs who are refusing to enforce the state’s new gun-control law are engaged in “political grandstanding” and are endangering the lives of residents, Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker’s office said on Monday.
