Utter shash.
Gangsters, Guns and Zombies didn't know if it was a drama or a comedy. If it was a drama it wasn't very dramatic. if it was a comedy it wasn't funny at all. Using the zombie apocalypse as a smokescreen to rob a bank (clever) the idiot gangsters (Q, Tony, Danny, Paul, Muscles and Crazy Steve) screw up, one get shot in the stomach and now they are on the run with a holdall of money, one (one!!!!) pistol and are in the need of a hospital and a safehouse.
99% of the action happens off camera (shit) and the acting and special effects are diabolical.
Saying that Gangsters (5), Guns (3) and Zombies (including swimming zombies and clowns) were infinitely better than the Taiwanese Zombie 108 aka Call of the Undead.
It was shit. Shit with a capital sh. We have SWAT, not just regular cops, SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) officers who cannot shoot zombies or gangsters from 5 feet away. The cops are all useless, the gangsters are all stupid, we have not one but two Japanese serial killers, including a rapist pervert zombie keeper serial killer who takes up far far too much of the movie with his raping and violence towards women, all the women are pitiful screeching idiots who trip over their own feet, and the underlying message here is that the Taiwanese police force make Police Academy look professional.
Hated it. Second worst movie we have reviews after Another World. Nothing is as bad as that.

A switcheroo here. I was planning to publish our episode on the battle of the 1970s long titled movies, with Let The Sleeping Corpses Lie at Manchester Morgue from 1974 and Children Should Not Play With Dead Things from 1972. However, Michael is playing catch-up and do we will publish that one next week.
And so it gives me, more of a fan of survival horror, to give my slant on the genre a chance. This episode I am therefore watching two movies with a heavy survival theme.
First we have Here Alone, where a woman (Ann) lives by herself in the woods after a viral outbreak. She uses tricks and methods learnt over time, and from her now deceased husband, to forage, and scavenge from local houses, avoiding the infected. But then, against her better judgement, she helps two fellow survivors who challenge her strategy.
And then we review the Danish What We Become. This did remind me a lot of the English movie Containment. And it follows the lives of a Danish family as a virus breaks out locally and the government contain them in their houses. Disinformation, misinformation and lies come from the authorities as they discover the truth about their predicament.
Both very good, both on the positive side of the scoring too. Check them out Here Alone and What We Become, both on Amazon Prime.

We aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination and are more than willing to pay for our zombie entertainment. This week though we looked at freebies on our collective steaming services and discovered Ibiza Undead, a British movie that touts itself as being "Shaun the Dead meets The Inbetweeners and riotously entertaining". Their words, not ours. Both being British, fans of Shaun of the Dead, and Michael is a fan of the Inbetweeners and star Emily Atack who appears in this, we thought we would give it a try.
Before I watched it though I read about it on Wikipedia and discovered that people had commented that it bore striking resemblance to Hindi movie Go Goa Gone, which would be our first Indian zombie movie and become the second movie of the episode.
Go Goa Gone, where 3 friends head to Goa and end up a Russian rave where a new experimental drug turns the party goers into flesh eating zombies. And why not?

Wazzup! Woah, I haven't said that in years. But yes we are back for the second part of the Netflix series All of Us are Dead.
We have loved this show, as we have other Korean zombie movies (#Alive, Train to Busan, Peninsula, Zombie for Sale) as they get it. They really get it.
We have loved this show, with Gwi Nam the villain, and So Ju the fearless firefighter desperate to save daughter On Jo, her friend Cheung San and all their little friends from the zombie outbreak at their school started by the science teacher who just wanted to stop his son being bullied.
There will be cliff hangers, if you aren't bingeing it, and tragedy as the military work out the cause and realise their only solution is to bomb the city.
Michael and I talk characters, plots and the potential of Season 2. Check it out now.

Two movies I hadn't seen before and probably should have done.
Given I have seen most of the George A. Romero movies, including the remakes, including the awful remakes - the remake of Day (oh that is bad). I love the original Dawn and the Snyder remake. I love Land. Day was always weak, despite the cult status of Bub. And so it is wildly strange to me that I never watched the Tom Savini 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead starring Patricia Tallman is Bar-ba-ra and the incredible Tony Todd as Ben. And I wish I had a long time ago. Barbara (they're coming to get you, Barbara) is badass this time, not the weak pathetic creature of 1968. And Ben is great. Anyway, I loved the improvement.
And Demons, a Dario Argento production, Italian, filmed in Berlin in 1985, and for some reason listed in a lot of the top 50 zombie movies lists I have seen. having seen Zombie Creeping Flesh, Zombie Flesh Eaters, and City of the Dead, I thought I would give it a go. Would it be a dud? I mean, are they even zombies? Difficult to say. I watched it anyway.

I had watched Zombie Warz (with a z) ages ago, long before Michael and I started on the journey that is All of Us are Dead but due to life getting in the way I hadn't watched a second movie to create a twofer episode.
So this morning I skipped the gym and watched The Battery, an indie flick that cost $6000 to make, and reminded me a lot of the UK Among the Living, just with better acting, effects, and camera work. I liked it.
Zombie Warz : Falls the Shadow was utter dog shit. Hated it. Virtually everything about this movie was bad. Why do I think this? Take a listen and find out.

This week and we next we will be bringing you are review and commentary on the South Korean Netflix series All of us as Dead. My second viewing and Michael's first. How will our opinions differ on everything from hiding and surviving to trying to live you life, from whether Lee-Cheong San's mother was stupid or just being a mother, and whether the girl in the pink sweater was the most evil character we have come across in 70 episodes of The Undead Symphony. Guess you will just have to listen and find out.

It was an odd one this week. Something I tend to do is trawl YouTube or the web for the next month of zombie watching, or I read something, get a recommendation, ask Michael what he wants to watch but I ordinarily know roughly what I am going to watch.
You know what it's like? It is like you have done the weeks grocery shop. You eat the most exciting meals first and then a few days later even the idea of those chicken steaks makes you gag. And trust me, Jeruzalem and Zombie Warz: Falls the Shadow are making me gag.
And so, using the analogy of a road trip, as a lot of zombie movies are, I looked left and the road was littered with burning dumpsters of daipers and animal parts, to the left the body glitter and thongs of two zombie stripper movies - the truly imaginatively titled Zombie Strippers starring Robert England and Jenna Jameson, and the slightly less awful stripper themed Zombieland parody Stripperland, complete with narration from the Columbus character, the Shaun of the Dead fart apology, and cameos from Boyd Banks (Dawn of the Dead, Land of the Dead) and Linnea Quigley (Return of the Living Dead, and Linnea Quigley's Horror Workout).
Enjoy. If it is at all possible.

Trying something new this episode as I watch the steampunk Nazi craziness of Frankenstein's Army with Karel Roden, before Michael and I watch The Walking Deceased. A movie he recommended that takes us away from my path.
Am really glad Michael has joined this adventure, shouldering the burden of Twitter, whilst I handle instaface and the technical aspects of the recording. He also brings me new movies to watch that may or may not be scheduled, such as the Walking Dead, Warm Bodies, Zombieland parody The Walking Deceased.
One terrible, one not so terrible, but which is which? Give it a listen to find out.

Time to nut up or shut up. And Michael and I are back on it with one of the mainstream hits from the realm of the undead - Zombieland, starring a very bankable cast of Jessie Eisenberg (Squid and the Whale, American Alpha), Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers), Emma Stone (La La Land) and Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine). A mainstream cast for a mainstream movie that borrowed the red pupiled running zombies of 28 Days Later, and made them it's own.
We join Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock as they navigate they way hilariously through the United States of Zombieland, follow Columbus' rules for surviving the zombie apocalypse, and stop in on comedy great Bill Murray on the way to Pacific Playland, where there aren't any zombies (honest).
