At that business event, he felt totally out of place, yet very successful people were interacting with him just because the person who brought Patrick to the event is highly successful.

You need people in your life, especially when going through hard times. You can’t go through hard times alone. You need a good social circle. A tribe. These people are going to raise your standards in life. When you’re having the worst days of your life, you’re not going to be dependent on them, instead, these people are setting the mood for who you are.
