For black history month I read 2 books (1 old, 1 new) written by African-Americans. The older one, written in 1845, was by Fredrick Douglas. He escaped slavery and became an intellectual. The other book is a biography of Andrew Johnson by Annette Gordon-Reed. There are lessons about racism and white supremacy. Both represent real and true American history, unlike the 1619 project.

A totalitarian government has total control and requires complete submission by its citizens. Has this worked during the covid crisis? I think with 500,000 deaths the answer is no. The federal government should have been there to meet needs that the private sector could not. It needed to educate more and dictate less. Both parties have failed us.

Democrats blamed Trump for Covid deaths. I believe the government may have been responsible for many deaths. Did the shutdowns really work? The last several months most people catching the virus were wearing masks. Masks don’t work. Will science do a study about any of this?

The woke culture is now going after a monument of George Washington at the University of Washington. Disney Plus is slapping the Offensive Content Warning label on several Muppet Shows. I have to believe Mister Rogers is next. This racist white man has to go. We voted for progressives, this is what we get.

Trump was loved by his followers because he was not a politician. True, but he was a businessman who loved to sell his products. A candidate's product is their message. He overwhelmed us in 2016 with his messages of building the wall, draining the swamp, and winning so much we will get tired of this. Where was this salesmanship in 2020.

Andrew Yang had the idea of a universal salary as a democrat candidate for president. He proposed $1000 per month for qualifying people. This is a better idea than raising the minimum simply because the government should not be telling a business what they have to pay their employees. Raising the minimum wage will cause some businesses to close or lay off employees.

The frozen windmills should be a symbol of The Green New Deal, global warming fanatics, and government solutions. Record low temperatures and extreme winter weather in Houston and around Texas. Alexander Ocasio-Cortez and I are not on the same page regarding this. What we need is more Al Gore.

Every electoral college vote from DC has gone to democrats. African-Americans make up 47% of the population of Washington DC. The population is 41% white. Blacks vote over 90% democrat every election. Almost a third of the population in DC is government employees. They vote 90% for democrats. Add the unions, government contractors, lobbyists, and press and you have a solid democratic stronghold in the nation's capital.

Washington DC is “the swamp”. DC is the richest and most powerful place on the earth. It is made up of politicians, bureaucracies, government contractors, lobbyists, and the press. Their goal is more money and power. This is why nationalized healthcare and the Green New Deal are so important to them. This is why I am for limited government.

Only democrats want Washington DC to be a state. The reason is political power. If DC were a state they would get 2 senators. Since DC votes overwhelmingly democratic every election, this will be a boost to keeping them in powers always. Congress already controls the budget and laws in DC, according to James Madison in Federalist Paper #43, this is necessary.
