Have you ever felt unworthy of following Jesus? You’re not alone. The disciples Jesus chose were far from perfect. James and John were brothers known for their fiery tempers. In fact, Jesus nicknamed them Sons of Thunder because of their impulsive behavior. Yet, despite their flaws, Jesus invited them to be part of His inner circle. Over time, these brothers learned to channel their passion into faithful service. James was the first disciple to be martyred. John lived into old age, writing Revelations as well as some of the most beautiful words on God’s love. What does this mean for us? Jesus doesn’t choose us because of who we are, but because of who we can become. If He could transform James and John, He can transform you, too.
