The Unnormal Paranormal Podcast

Researcher Ronald Murphy, author of "On Vampires", explains how vampires and other dark figures have evolved and shaped the beliefs of world civilizations for thousands of years  -- from Lillith, Adam's first wife,  on up to recent use as a tool for negative propaganda against immigrant populations and cultures.

Later on in this episode, Ronald Murphy and James Poston, our in-house horror movie expert, discuss vampire movies past and present, good and .... sometimes bad!

Does the ancestral memory of man still hold remnants of yesteryear's bogeymen? Taking a page from the works of psychiatrist Carl Jung, many researchers believe that cryptids and accounts of seemingly impossible creatures are not beyond the realm of reality: they auditioned for, but never quite got the part in a movie known as evolution.

Today we speak with cryptozoologist Ronald Murphy, author of the new book: "On Vampires". As you will soon learn, the "vampire" figure represents FAR more than what we have seen in the cinema -- it has profoundly influenced the cultural history of civilizations for thousands of years.

A fortunate confluence of environment (Ron is a native of western PA -- home to legends such as Bigfoot) and natural curiosity jump started Ron's worldwide trek in search of the "'other': creatures of the periphery, who haunt the liminal regions of our civilized world ".

Author and researcher, Max Kiejzik provides details supporting extraterrestrial structures on Mars. Are the iconic "Face on Mars" monolith and the D & M pyramid part of an ancient city built by an advanced civilization or are we looking at an optical illusion?

In part 2, Max introduces the concept of "sacred geometry" -- an interconnectedness between man's existence and the whole; an encoded reminder of the sacred foundation of all things created.

Our guest today, Max Kiejzik, author of "The Crux of Cydonia", has spent decades decoding the mesa-like structures located within the Cydonia region of Mars. To some, this region is simply the product of past ice and water progressions but to others like Max, it is an extraterrestrial graphing calculator with its own built in functions for determining a prosperous and enlightened future. The question then becomes: can the past decode our future?

The term LSD summons mental images of madness, felonious behavior and perversion but thanks in part to a new, open minded community of academics and researchers, we are once again at the cusp of a new psychedelic renaissance. And now, in place of recreational experimentation for its own sake are transformations in the treatment of mental illness and new ways of understanding human consciousness.

Erika Dyck, Ph.D., a historian with a keen interest in the history of drug experimentation and psychiatric institutionalization, offers an insightful perspective into the politics of medical psychedelic research that very few of us get to hear
