Have you ever been so frustrated that you gave up? I remember when I was in school, I would constantly give up on my homework because it was too frustrating for me to complete. Today, Pastor Ken says Jonah wanted to give up while on this journey with God, but why? It’s because he was stubborn and didn’t want to continue the task that God appointed Him. He was frustrated with God! When you’re frustrated with where God has you, remind yourself there’s a plan, even if you can’t see it.

How often do we want to control the things going on in our lives? We want to get that job, date that person, or bring justice where justice is deserved. Today, Pastor Ken says Jonah tried his best to control God and tell Him what to do, but God always did what was best for Jonah. God’s always going to do what’s best for His people. He loves you and wants to put you in the best situation to thrive as a follower of Him. Put your trust in Him and allow Him to guide your every step. He promises to never fail you!

Sometimes it can feel like the government around us is against us. It can be the rules put in place, the people put in power, or even just the way things are priced at the grocery store! Today, Pastor Ken says we must remember that we need to pray for our leaders. We must pray that they can lead us well and for their salvation. God’s always working! When it comes to our government, we must remember that they’re humans too. They will make mistakes, but God’s put them in power for a reason.

I recently went to a football game, and it was the most electric atmosphere. The team was losing, but then it all shifted when a player intercepted the ball and ran it 99 yards for a touchdown. The crowd was ecstatic, and the home team ended up winning! What if I told you that when God enters your life, things that things can change as drastically as the momentum for a sports team. Today, Pastor Ken says God is reaching out and trying to change your life. When you choose to believe, all of Heaven rejoices!

When a parent shares something with their kid, oftentimes it’s met with pushback and skepticism. The child forgets that their parent loves them and only wants what’s best for them. In today’s message, Pastor Ken says sometimes with God we choose not to follow Him because we’re not all in on His plan for our lives. An earthly parent is sinful and can fail, but God doesn’t fail. He loves you and will never lead you down a path of destruction. He’s all-knowing, so He’ll always put you where you need to be.

When we think of the love of God, it seems backwards. It seems weird that a God who is perfect and loving would give us a way to have a relationship with Him. In today’s message, Pastor Ken says we must remember that God doesn’t treat us like we deserve. Because of His love, He’s constantly reaching out to you to have a relationship with you. He wants you to be free from the chains of your sin and live in the freedom He gives you. Trust in the freedom that His Son gave you today!  Choose His love today!

Can we all agree that it’s hard to forgive someone when they wrong us? We want justice right away, and yet sometimes God says no. Today, Pastor Ken says that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! He loves you and wants you to be with Him for eternity. But what does this mean for you right now? It means you can’t do anything that would take away God's heart to reach for you. Even when you sin, He’s constantly trying to get to your heart and give you a chance to have a relationship with Him! 

Have you ever driven with a GPS and tried to go against it? I find myself doing that all the time! I’ll think I’m smarter than the GPS only to find that the way that I thought was faster and better wasn’t better. Usually, I find myself using the GPS the way it’s intended in the end! Today, Pastor Ken says when we stray away from where God wants us to be, He’ll always bring us back. Have you allowed God to lead you, or are you trying to do things your way? When a parent watches their kids, they must find the fine line between letting their kids fail and protecting them. Sometimes you have to let your kid touch the stove for them to know it’s hot!
