In 1981, the small town of Skidmore, Missouri, became the center of a shocking true-crime case when Ken McElroy, a man feared by many in the community, was shot and killed in broad daylight in front of dozens of witnesses. Despite the number of people present, no one came forward to identify the shooter. In this episode, we dive into the life, crimes, and mysterious death of Ken McElroy, exploring the question that still haunts Skidmore: How could an entire town witness a murder and stay silent?
