The past week's news centered on various individual public figures. We go through the newsmakers with Senior Editor of The Unshackled Damien Ferri.

The UK has a new Prime Minister after the members of the Conservative Party elected by a margin of 2-1 Boris Johnson as their new leader to replace Theresa May. There is now a lot of optimism that as a Brexit supporter he can deliver what the British people voted for in 2016 and the UK can leave the European Union by October 31st.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern visited Australia last week to give a speech at Melbourne’s Town Hall on Good Governance and met with Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews to discuss her wellness budget. But Ardern failed in her diplomatic mission with the Morrison government not backing down on its policy of deporting New Zealand born criminals from Australia.

The Adam Goodes Documentary the Final Quarter about the booing saga in the final years of his career premiered on Network 10 last week. The media narrative now is that the booing was racially motivated but that is only because Goodes, once he becomes Australian of the Year labelled Australia as racist. This led to resentment from AFL fans and the booing began.

Masterchef Judge George Calombaris has admitted to underpaying workers at his chain of restaurants to the tune of $7.83m. He was fined $200,000 by Fair Work. There was a lot of pressure on Network Ten to sack him from the show but in the end, all judges are leaving the show because ironically, they believed they weren’t being paid enough despite being on million dollars salaries.

During the federal election campaign, The Unshackled provided extensive coverage of the campaign of Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party. It was only registered in April this year but managed to stand 70 candidates, including in 29 of the 30 lower house seats in Fraser Anning’s home state of Queensland.

Fraser Anning failed to gain re-election to the Senate with the party only obtaining 0.64% of the vote nationally in the Senate. This was despite Fraser Anning’s Facebook page gaining over 120,000 followers and generating large amounts of publicity, both positive and negative.

So after a whirlwind start to the year but an underwhelming election result where to from here for the party? That is the topic of discussion today with my guest Paul Taylor who was the number 2 Queensland Senate candidate for the Conservative Nationals.

Originally born in India, after migrating to Australia in 1985 he has built a successful business career. He has previously run for Liberal National Party preselection, was a Rise Up Australia Party candidate in 2016, and a One Nation candidate at the Queensland state election in 2018.

He switched to Fraser Anning's party in 2019 due to One Nation selecting a Muslim candidate in the New South Wales state election. This meant the Conservative Nationals were then the only party committed to ending Islamic immigration to Australia.

Paul's Indian immigrant background gained a lot of attention given that the media described Fraser Anning's party as white nationalist. Paul said his race and immigrant background was never an issue in the party and he was welcomed with open arms.

Paul outlines his policy manifesto if he were to be elected, including stricter immigration skills and assimilation requirements. Water and agricultural policy, and long term infrastructure planning is another key area of his interest.

Paul informs us about what the plan is for the Conservative Nations going forward and how it intends to contest the next federal election due in 2022. He also shares his expectations on what Scott Morrison can deliver with his re-elected government.

It was another violate news week around the world. To discuss and analyse it all once again is Senior Editor of The Unshackled Damien Ferri.

The biggest political story is United States President Donald Trump taking on four far-left progressive Democrat freshman congresswomen known as the squad: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.

In a series of tweets, he accuses them of hating American suggests they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.

Trump has yet again been called a racist and the Democrat controlled house passed a resolution condemning his tweets. But Republicans now appreciative of his successes in office have not succumbed to media pressure to condemn Trump.

Most rational commentators see Trump’s attacks on the Squad as part of his 2020 re-election strategy to position himself as being the pro-American candidate and the Democratic Party as trying to undermine American values and greatness.

The Democrats have been trying to undermine the US’s southern border security attacking ICE detention facilities and raids. An Antifa member attempted a terror attack on an ICE facility in the US state of Washington armed with bombs and a rifle but was shot dead by police before he could harm anyone.

Back in Australia climbing Ayers Rock is set to be officially banned due to the alleged spiritual significance of the site to Indigenous Australians. This seems to more of a case of those in the indigenous grievance industry finding another way to tell white people off for being disrespectful.

Former Greens leader Bob Brown has decided he doesn’t like wind-farms due to their environmental and atheistic impact in his home state of Tasmania. He is now opposed to coal, hydro, coal seam gas and now wind power.

There have been more anti-Adani coal mine protests in Brisbane which intentionally block peak hour traffic. The Queensland Labor Government has reluctantly approved the mine but seems to be perfectly happy to enable these disruptive protests led by Marxist group Socialist Alternative and extreme environmentalist group Extinction Rebellion.

After an absence due to the winter flu season, Waves is back to catch up and discuss the most important national and international developments of the past week.

I begin by providing an update on Blair Cottrell's appeal against his 2017 conviction under Victoria’s Racial and Religious Tolerance Act for his participation in a mock Islamic beheading video. Cottrell and his lawyer John Bolton in addition to challenging the constitutionality of the law are now challenging it under Victoria's Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities.

Senior Editor of The Unshackled Damien Ferri then joins the show. We begin by providing all the latest detail about the arrest of pedophile billionaire Jeff Epstein in New York on new sex trafficking charges.

These new charges are thanks to a Mike Cernovich lawsuit which unsealed court documents involving a Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking lawsuit, along with the work of Julie Brown at Miami Herald talking to victims.

The mainstream media are now claiming that Epstein is closer to Donald Trump than Bill Clinton. Clinton flew on Epstein's private jet the Lolita Express 26 times, while Trump banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago golf club in 1999 over the allegations.

In Australian politics, debate continues over the introduction of a Religious Discrimination Act. Pressure has grown on the Morrison Government to fast track the legislation in the wake of the Israel Folau saga, however Pauline Hanson has raised the main concern with such as Act that it could protect Islamic extremism.

Indigenous constitutional recognition is back on the political agenda with new Indigenous Affairs Minister Ken Wyatt appearing to be open to the Uluru Statement from the Heart which calls for a indigenous voice to parliament to be enshrined in the constitution. However, it has been previously stated that such a voice would be a race based third chamber of parliament.

Facebook released an update to their community standards this week, which stated that threats of death and violence were banned unless they were directed at dangerous individuals or people or groups the media deems to be violent. Facebook amended the policy after a backlash as they realized they weren't above the law in allowing threats to be posted on their platform.

Antifa violence and terrorism have struck again in the US city of Portland reaching new levels of barbarity. Masked Antifa thugs were counter-protesting the annual free speech Patriot prayer rally armed with steel pipes and milkshakes. They assaulted Quillette journalist Andy Ngo who had to be rushed to hospital with brain bleeding. Two other attendees had visible blooded heads with eight needing treatment for injuries.

Antifa’s violence has been out of control for many years but their behaviour has been enabled and excused by the mainstream media and political establishment because they are noble and antifascists. But it looks like they now finally gone too far in attacking an observing journalist with the backlash against Antifa now going mainstream.

To discuss the fallout from the latest round of Antifa thuggery is a victim of Antifa himself The Unshackled’s own Martin Hartwig who was hospitalised by Brisbane’s Antifa last year outside that city’s Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux speaking event.

The greatest horror that plagues our society is the practice of abortion. Healthy babies are killed at abortion clinics in our major cities everyday.

It can be very demoralising being a pro-life advocate in Australia, not only is there a trend to legal abortion until birth but now to erect exclusion zones around abortion clinics meaning pro-life advocates cannot even offer information to women entering a clinic thinking about an abortion.

One pro-life advocate who has found herself on the wrong side of these exclusion zones and took her case all the way to High Court, but was unsuccessful in having them overturned is Kathy Clubb.

She has an incredible life story, she is a mother of 13 children, a homeschooler and a devout Catholic.

She herself began her pro-life journey with an unplanned pregnancy in her youth, choosing life for her baby now does her utmost to save other babies.

She runs two online blogs The Freedoms Project and Light Up the Darkness which chronicles her activism against abortion as well as commentary on religious freedom and other ethical issues.

This week it has been culture war issues dominating the news cycle. Joining me to discuss all of it is once again Senior Editor of The Unshackled Damien Ferri.

Former rugby player Israel Folau last Friday opened up a GoFundMe page to fund his legal challenge against Rugby Australia for terminating his playing contract. This attracted a fair bit on controversy given that he has a property portfolio worth $7 million.

On Monday morning, GoFundMe pulled Folau’s page for violating their terms of service. The Australian Christian Lobby has restarted the legal fund and already raised over $1 million in less than 24 hours.

The escalation of emotion around this issue has increased with freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of association and corporate power being hotly debated.

Cory Bernardi announced he was planning to deregister his Australian Conservatives party after their poor performance at the federal election. He claims the party is no longer needed because Scott Morrison is a good conservative Prime Minister.

A lot of his former members and supporters would beg to differ with that view are vowing to relaunch a new proper conservative party very soon to offer a real alternative to the Australian voters.

There has also been change in Fred Nile's Christian Democratic Party with 18 year old Samraat Joshua Grewal assisted by 22 year old Joel Jammal removing the party's state executive in an effort to renew the party after they failed to have their state MLC re-elected at the NSW state election.

Damien also gives us a report on the True Blue Crew Aussie Pride Solidarity March at Penrith in Sydney last Saturday. Around 30 patriots attended with Ricky Turner the special guest speaker. It was a low turnout but with most patriot groups banned from Facebook advertising these events is much more difficult.

Show Description:

In another Wednesday night live episode of the show I go through the major news developments of the week with Senior Editor of The Unshackled Damien Ferri.

Internationally protests in Hong Kong against the introduction of an extradition bill which could see its citizens subjected to the Chinese legal system have been successful in halting the bill, a rare defeat for the People's Republic of China.

The social justice AFL took things too far this week with their behavioral awareness officers policing fans in the crowd. It is just another overreach into social life that the AFL has embarked on. The fans this week make it clear they'd had enough.

Adani protestors are deciding to be even more annoying by gluing themselves to a road in the Brisbane CBD. They are giving the vegan activists a run for their money.

Cory Bernardi has said he is open to rejoining the Liberal Party and they are open to having him back. It would be a massive admission of political failure if Bernardi were to do this after leaving to start Australian Conservatives.

In Progressive Victoria, voluntary euthanasia has come into effect. Despite Premier Daniel Andrews claiming it is the strictest law anywhere in the world many pro-life activists still have concerns about allowing state-sanctioned killing.

Also in Progressive Victoria they proposing laws to introduce gender fluid birth certificate as transgenders or others no longer need surgery to change their gender to whatever they like as long as it's not obscene or offensive.

Westpac has decided to close the bank account of patriot activist Blair Cottrell, in a further escalation of the deplatforming of right-wing figures. He had already been banned from PayPal. It is suspected his account was closed due to his appeal against his blasphemy conviction.

One of the minor parties on the right that was vying for a Senate seat at the just passed federal election was Australian Conservatives founded by former Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi. Despite having a number of high profile well qualified candidates the party was unsuccessful in having any of its candidates elected.

So where to from here not just for Australian Conservatives but the fractured conservative vote in Australia?
