We have all had times in our life that we want to hold onto, even if those times were not necessarily goo for us. God doe does not want us to live in our yesterday when he has given us this new day. We can appreciate our lived experiences, but we cannot live in them and we should not long for them.

My challenge to you today is to dive into your right now. If you are busy attempting to relive what you would consider to be the best times of your life, you will limit the ability to create new and, in many cases, even better times.

You can never see what's ahead while looking back.

Being victimized is not a choice; however, remaining a victim is. Many times you will hear women who have overcome abuse tell you directly not to call them a victim because they want to walk in the victory of overcoming. Remaining a "victim" gives power to someone else while walking in victory allows us to reclaim our power and determine the destination of our emotions, which is important because though we shouldn't make decisions primarily on our emotions when we are not healed, let's face it, we do.

When did you first feel the pressure to be perfect? Did the pressure cause you to perform? It's a sneaky culprit because it can happen without you even recognizing the great takeover. Yes I am being a bit dramatic, but it's real. Maybe this comes from not really being firm enough in our identity, that we become what's expected of us. However, when we tire of performing, we become our best selves, because we become true to ourselves. Unapologetically be who God created you to be and surround yourself with the people who support the real you.

Once we dared to dream until one day we didn't. Does adulting and growing up mean the gifts and passion God put in us are not viable? Absolutely NOT. These things are very much a part of who we are if we allow them to be. Never give up on your God given dreams, if He gave them to you, there is a way to hone in, build those skills and become your destiny. Do you believe we need to set boundaries and name our deal breakers when entering relationships? Personally, I would say YES, YES and YES. Boundaries keep you safe mentally, emotionally and sometimes even physically. However, if you have no boundaries in place, how will you know when someone has crossed one. This is also true with established deal breakers, which when healthy, establish the standard you set for future relationships. These need to be realistic and remain true to who you are as a woman. I pray this is a place for you to receive food for thought, encouragement and maybe even have a aha moment here and there while on this journey. This first episode is a bit of an introduction and then share a little about the chaos we may find ourselves in. Sometimes we create the chaos and other times we're thrust into, but we have to learn to diffuse the chaos and not find comfort in it. The chaos of today's world sometimes make me long for the days of corded telephones that stretched from the kitchen entryway all the way past the dining room and into the livingroom. Remember that one centralized phone with the spiral cord and no call waiting? Those were simpler times for sure… What was a simple memory you have?
